Finally, our turn to declare officially..... the last lap for PSLE 2014.

      🕺 🕺 :dancing:

Soon, this thread will become a history n reference for future PSLERs, espy those taking PSLE 2015. They will probably able to feel our ups and downs as we embark on this journey 😄

GG, have a happy trip.. For me, I will pick DS up , then my family will off to short trip to KL.

Before I go, here is the long waited reply from SEAB regarding the PSLE grading system...at least this reply has cleared our doubts officially...

      Quoted :

We wish to inform that grading is not based on fixed cut-off marks. It takes into consideration various factors including paper difficulty and the quality of candidates’ work. Hence we are unable to provide further information on this.

That's mean if the papers are easy, the cut-off marks will be raised to 97 (just like last year for Maths paper). If such a case, I prefer to say all papers are tough so that the cut-off marks will be lower down. My lame excuse 😂

Just to clarify, I keep hearing this psle is the last year of old syllabus.

Old syllabus meaning English syllabus? The rest of the subjects no change in syllabus, right?

I guess, based on the above discussion, if the paper is so tricky, kids' answers are so \"divided\", this paper can considered as \"difficult\".
In any case, the exam is over. I believe that the kids have done their very best under such an extremely stressful condition. They deserved a big big hug. Based on my last year's experience, please fully enjoy these two months before the results are out, where the stress level going up again on sec sch selection.

Well done mummies, well done P6ers.

Hey, I get the same impression too that this is the last year under the old \"syllabus/ system\".

But beyond EL (for some sections), my impression is also the change in grading system?

I've this dilemma as I am trying to determine if there are anything that I should keep for my P3....

You mean 97 to full marks to get A*? That is too tough.

Sharing the same thots too which I would prefer having the papers to be tough too so that there is alignment to what the schs have been adopting all this while. To get A*, the score must be > 91.

There's too many moving parts to determine the grade now. Math could be raised to 98 to get an A* if overall, assuming the kids perform well in this paper. May prove tough to reach this A*.... 😓
