      Hi Integer

      Thanks for your feedback!

For me, I have ordered Lumixyl cream online. Still waiting for the package to arrive. As mentioned, it costs ard S$180 (incl. shipping cost of RM50). I was pleasantly surprised to receive an email from them saying that I would be given a free 9 ml Glycopeel 10, which when used together with Lumixyl cream produces faster result, ie can see results in 4 weeks. I thought the cost is very reasonable considering that some of my other skincare products already cost around the same price. Wanna try out this cream first before visiting Chris Foo. What’s more, Lumixyl is Hydroquinone-free so it is safe to use.

          Any recommendation for ipl, anyone?

I try to avoid the sun usually. But there are times when I need to go under the sun, eg cross the road, walk in the car park. It is ok if I am to go for ipl?

            hercules:
Laser & IPL are usually effective on pigmentation, if you do it regularlly (usually about 4 weeks interval at the beginning and then 6 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks, interval in later part) AND you have to adhere to no-sun and careful sunblock requirements after the treatments else the the pigmentation may become worst (due to initial thinning of skin at the beginning).

Some cream products are good to reduce pigmentation but need to have good patience coz usually have to wait long long.

It's best to treat melasma via diet first instead of using external treatments. Understand melasma is caused by internal 'toxic', something to do the liver. So, get the liver to function properly first else how much one throws in laser and IPL also will not work much. It is difficult to treat melasma as it is due to 'internal damage'.

Current laser/IPL price under GP is about $250/treatment, under salon can cost as little as $18. Their machines are usually different with salons usually buy second hand machines. GP gives a better sense of they know how to control the intensity of the beams while beautician may 'mis-judge' and burn one's skin for life. GP also maintain their machines better and usually will retire their machine once new one is out (so most of the time, they have the latest on the market).

The cheapest way to have good skins is to start from young - wash, moisturise, and sunblock from teenage years. If you have already missed this window period, then teach your kids how to do so.

            Hi,
do you know of any ipl / laser clinic ?

              Steadyberry:
Oh no, I just signed up for 2 sessions of ipl & 2 sessions of laser at my gp. I had my 1st ipl last wk. Didn't like the feeling of it at all. Scabs appeared but have not fallen off. :stupid:

              Koh-I-noir,

Thx for the info. Really appreciate it. When will the scabs fall off by the way? My next appointment is 4-5 wk later for laser. Do u think I should just go for ipl for the nx 3 sessions since I had paid for them? And how many times had you gone through ipl & laser? The thing I am really worried is the long term effect. My face might look flawless now but not sure 10 years down the road. I might look like 60 or 70 if I stop ipl. 😢
              Hi Steadyberry,

Any feedback on your ipl and laser sessions?

Btw, the Lumixyl cream has no effect on me at all. Can't see any difference.

I tried a full course of 12 sessions of IPL at a beautician. I do end up with more radiant skin and slightly diminished age spots (which does not correlate with the amount spent). I also ended up getting lots of pimples throughout the year of IPL sessions I had. It was probably due to the heat I received at IPL sessions that caused my skin to act up. I stopped since then and now I am pretty much pimple free.

Any recommendation for dark eye rings? I have this problem after giving birth to my daughter 15 yrs ago. Tried many eye cream but do not see any effect. Even spent $2000 :moneyflies: on eye treatment with a beauty salon also no improvement. My colleagues and friends always commented me looking very tired. Any help out there?

                    :thankyou:

Have not been here for a long while and I can see that everyone's still on IPL and creams. Have anyone tried tcm? If yes, please do recommend and share your feedback if you don't mind? TIA. :thankyou:

Please don’t sign up any packge with PPP. I personally do not find the laser treatment effective at all. I have gotten the package SGD4,200 (entitles you to 100 points and 4 microlasers/cool touch) to get rid of my pigmentation , a 10 cent coin size solar lentigo on my right cheek. To date after a year of treatment, after more than 50 times (that’s is 50+ points), I still do not see the pigmentation going away, my solar lentigo is still there. It will be better to go to skin specialist where he’ll prescribe the solution specific to your problem instead of spending money on some generic standardised laser which cannot target all kinds of pigmentation . To PPP’s own admission , the laser at their branches has limited wave length and cannot target some pigments (my solar lentigo is of very light brown color, not that serious and perhaps my fair skin magnifies it) . They even suggested I go to their headquarters at Paragon as their laser machines are better but it will cost more points (3 to 5 points each treatment as opposed to 1 point in their PPP branches) The question is why are the laser machines even different. PPP never told me until so much later that I should have gone to the HQ. Each time I ask the doctor if the solar lentigo will go away , he said to give it at least 50 times and it should. It was only recently, they suggested I go to the HQ (but after spending so much points on the branch and the frequent trips) . When I went to the HQ, they even charged me another SGD 100 to see the doctor. I am very disappointed at the service , and it would appear to me that they are more eager to earn more dollars from you than trying to help solve my problem.

In fact in their bid to expand so quickly , they have replaced their usual machines for cool touch to another version which uses heat (yes instead of the cooling gases contrary to the term cool touch). I also recently learnt that PPP is trying to get listed i.e IPO and annual turnover was round SGD 20 million and that explains their sales tactic where they are always trying to get you to sign up for more packages, and push you to buy their masks (quite costly and very low quality – the masks tear very easily) . They are also so restrictive on how you can use the existing points that I have , always claiming that their finance dept is inflexible and system cannot be customised to accept this arrangement. I have paid up SGD 4200 upfront, to receive a bunch of treatment that is not even working and I cannot use the remaining unused points for other treatments – implying that I should continue with the existing laser treatment that is obviously not working,

Actually warning signs should have alerted me to sign up anything with PPP in the first. In the trial session, where you are entitled to 3 sessions, the doctors never took notes not pictures of the initial stage of the pigmentation, secondly they do not even track the state of the progress of the problem and whether the treatment was effective, The entire service/treatment was very unpersonal and feels more like a fast-food/factory assembly line .
Bottom line, don’t waste your money and time. For the kind of money you are paying better off to get a more personalised treatment and the problem be rid once and for all. PPP is more like one size fits all treatment that does not work any every type of problem.
