Hahaha yup forgot to mention Hindi along with tamil..Hindi also don't have resources. I totally agree..here..

I have not seen any Hindi assessment or text book in popular or other bookshops..

If a language is offered at MOE school, the respective resources must be made available to public

Yeah... If you know whom I should approach in MOE let me know. DAV and Hindi Society out there to suck money only; only shake leg. Parents need to put double effort . Hindi marks absolutely not transparent.

Best person to approach is mr S K Heng, tel 68796000

The challenges we face in learning Chinese in Singapore are unique and no other country is experiencing this.

In many countries, the non-mother-tongue Chinese is learned as a second or third language usually by adults or grown up children. Only in Singapore, the mother-tongue Chinese is learned as a second language by young children.

Do you realise many parents suddenly    when someone suggested excluding MT in psle t-score? This topic is indeed very touchy!

Malaysian Chinese have to learn Chinese without the govt supporting them. On top of that, they still have to learn Malay to survive in Malaysia and also English in order to work in Singapore.

We may not realise that but over the years, every generation is doing well in their MT! My mother can speak Hakka because that's my grandma's MT. I did well in Chinese because my mother conversed in mandarin with me. My children are also doing well in \"MT\" because we speak English at home. This shows that children in different generations can pick up languages naturally, be it Hokkien, Teochew, Cantonese, Mandarin or English.

More households are English speaking nowadays (maybe with the perception that speaking Mandarin is not as refined/atas?) and as a result, only in Singapore, the mother-tongue Chinese is learned as a second language by young children.

How children learn their MT also depends largely on the daily use of the language at home.

Talk and discuss so much and the result is still like that.

You can cry and moan as much as you like until the Cow comes home, but the T-score will soon be abolish as mention by our prime minister.
Hence, all psle will be gauge just like O level.

Whether you dun like it or not, it's here to stay. Either you accept it or ship out. That's the life in Singapore.
Once MOE implement this change wef don't know which year coming, blank out T-score, everything hidden, no longer Transparent, become a mysterious black box :-

            - you won't even be able to list down what Secondary schools you want to choose, because you don't even know whether your child qualify for RI First Tier Sec school, or qualify for second Tier Secondary schools, or qualify for other lower ranking Sec schools, since everything become unknown, become a black box, once T-score is blanked out, entirely from the knowledge of parents.

The band, or the range of marks allocated, can be very wide.
More chaos, more confusion, more controversy.
\"How one fail to enter, or how one die\" : also unknown.

Now at least parents can list down 6 choices of Sec schools in their application to Sec schools, because we know our child's T-score and roughly what COP the Sec schools last year had.
This helps to guide us, to list down our choices.

Wait until This new change : when the time comes, blank out T-score -
A lot of parents will be lost, because everything hush hush, behind closed door. Create even more stress for parents.

Give me back the T-score, anytime.
            Let T-score remain
seriously hope my child's batch able to escape all these black box mystery. We don't need them

There are a few entries made by a Dr Ssue. This is a new account. Looks like someone is trying to sabotage the data collection.

Must buy from India. There will be resources for past year paper, no?

The T score is affected cos the Mean score is higher. 😉
