My girl score 243 plus 2, can anyone suggest any good school within this range? I am staying at CCK. Distance is a main factor for considering too.

This year EESIS cut off is 258. Same as last year.

Think there was an earlier discussion that EESIS cutoff at 257.xxxx, some with 257 get the scholarship, some don't.

Do anybody know what is the EESIS(top 3%) and top 10% cut of point since 2010 ?

                Checks out this
                http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum ... 9&start=20

                2010 260
                2011 261
                2012 263
                2013 258
                2014 257.xx

Top 10% usually 249 to 250. This year it seems to be 249 as students with this score are offered Category 3 3rd languages (French, German, etc)

                  Hi,

I am also a RGPS pupil and staying at Bukit Timah appreciate your thoughts
                  I have scored 258+2 (HMT)

                  1) RGS (Last year COP 259)
                  2) NYGH (IP) 261
                  3) MGS (IB) 256
                  4) SCGS (IP) 251
                  5) NJC (IP) 255 (not very keen cause Co-ed)
                  6) MGS (O) 252
Need help, advice from experienced parents.

Appreciate if parents can help Molang (P6 pupil) in her first 2 choices -
as I am not familiar with how the ordering of these 6 choices work, when MOE computer start to allocate pupils, into different Secondary schools of choice.
                  Thank you

Molang's dream school is RGS Secondary.

                  last year (2013) :
RGS Cut off point (at 259) was lower than that of Nanyang Girls High (NYGH) at 261.

should Molang put RGS as #1, or as #2 ?

because if she put RGS as #1 but fail to meet Cut off point (259) :
fail to enter RGS, isn't she also risking NYGH, since NYGH has a higher COP (261) than RGS (259) ?

                  But another dilemma, may arise.

Suppose this year (2014) : just suppose NYGH COP drop to 260 -
(because overall P6 Sg cohort performance dropped, compared to last year) -

and if Molang put NYGH as #1, RGS as #2,
with her 258 +2 : Molang able to meet NYGH COP at 260 right on the dot, computer allocate her, slot her successfully into Nanyang Girls High, since +2 is accepted by SAP school.
Then, she unable to enter RGS (her dream school), caught in dilemma.

So, issue lies in what should be the order & sequence of ranking school of choices, as #1, #2 ?

                  Appreciate kind advice.
                  Thank you, very much

The S1 posting system is like this. At ANY one time, the system is only posting ONE student. The system sorts all students according to Tscores. It then takes the highest student and goes down his list of 6 choices. If the student chooses
                    1. sch A (cop 240)
                    2. Sch B (cop 250)

it will post him to sch A FIRST, if there is a vacancy in that school. It does not sort your choices according to COP, BUT ACCORDNG TO YOUR PREFERENCES IN THE LISTED ORDER.

In Molang's case, if she prefers RGS To NYGH, put 1. RGS, 2. NYGH. There is NO risk if she is not successful in RGS. The system will take her next choice, NYGH, and check if there is vacancy. If there is, she will be posted there. If not, it goes to her 3rd, 4th choice..6th choices in the same way. Once she is posted, then the system will go to the next lower score student and the whole process starts again.

This, it is vital that students select their choices in Order of preference. The top 2-3 choices can be higher than your Tscore, but the last 2 choices should be lower (at least 2-3 points lower) than the schools COP. To be realistic, the top 2 choices should not be too far off last year's COP. In my humble opinion, I will only try for a maximum of 2 schools not more than 3 points off my score, the 3rd & 4th choice schools at or near my score, and the last 2 choices 2-4 points lower than my score, to be safe.

Go refer to the Choose your Secondary School 2015 admission booklet given by MOE. All P6 students should have one copy each. Check with your DD.

Can try Swiss Cottage Sec, cop 239.

Next is Kranji Sec since it is at CCK where you reside.
