Tingxie list haven't distribute yet. I am not chasing it though

But other level like P6 : got a lot of 2014 P6 Test papers found.

Last year P1 Semester 2 started with Chinese sentences 听写 , inclusive of Chinese phrases and HYPY.

This year，my P2 dd just finished one session of 听写 this week。

On the 听写 and spelling, i think every school has different standard. My kids do not have impromptu words for spelling neither do they have sentences for spelling. Just the usual 2 character words for tingxie and the usual 1 word for spelling.

Some sch go bit faster and some slower, as what i understand.

We should also start to buy a big A4 sized file, get ready to collect any certificate to help our piggies build up portfolio, to present for DSA interview, in 2019 P6 July / August.
We have time, from now until next 4 years, to help them consolidate their portfolio.

piggies who have yet to start a Cca :
time to explore which Cca is suitable.

I think academic portfolio can start in P4. Anything before is moot.

Personally I feel the best at this age is to explore and encourage their interests - art, dance, chess, sports etc. it serves as both an outlet and a creative stimulant, plus it is a healthy hobby. Any achievements can of course be recorded in the form of certificates or photos.

Remember everyone is going to be mugging for PSLE. DSA is looking for that INDIVIDUAL with spark. I know not everyone will agree with this, but I feel to get in through DSA in an area that is not of one's interest is a burden, a burden to be carried for the next 4 years. A teacher friend was telling me about a student who got into a top girls school via sports. The student told my friend - Ms X, the thing is I don't even like (the sport). The student was not happy, but resigned.

Our children mostly try to please us. But our best gift to them is to help them be true to themselves or they may find themselves very lost later in life.

I agree with you. Wonder DSA is to please the parents or the child. Most often, it is the parents who insist the child go for DSA.

Is the sch chinese std very high (or selected High Chi class)
My dc mo xie starts only in P4 .Or is this new Chi syllabus again for this P2 batch
