Well, there are some schools that are very on type.

Parents in high ability class can feedback to the Maths hod / Tr to justify a realistic number of pages to be done, plus a realistic time frame to submit

        Hi

Her school gives them 20 pages (A4 size paper) of schoolwork – math yesterday (13/02/15), 2 questions on each page, total 40 questions, mainly problems sum (34) and a few Patterns (6).
Is it considered more or less? :?

Frankly I would probably consider that too much even for P5 for a weekday homework. Even if it is restricted to one or two topics that is more problem sums than in an exam paper.
Also it depends on if the questions are repetitive does it make sense to do so many on the same day. If they are tough and different , then could be too challenging. Either way it is not productive.

          That is considered 魔鬼的训练 :yikes:
I have not seen my DS brought home ANY maths work. He either finished it in school or forgot to bring home.
          Hi

No, that is not Devil's training不是魔鬼的训练. 是非常传统的教学方式. 誏学生多磨练磨练一下! That is her teacher’s effort; teacher also needs to spend time to correct the student’s mistake. 😄

But there is a 魔鬼 (誏家长又爱又恨) 的学校 in Sengkang 🤷, it make the parents have the love hate relationship with the school. Parents may need to do at least 2years volunteer to get a chance to get in or ballot in. Tough life for those results below average students.

                  Hi

Besides math, her form teacher also teaches them English and others subjects, those who handed in the worksheets (homeworks) late on the 3rd or 4th day will be reprimanded.

Hoo's dd is in Rivervale Primary School? My guess since the school is competing against Nan Chiau...

Ah ha!! MOE officials may be secretly reading this page and tomorrow give instructions down to primary schools not to give 20 pages homework to P2 students. The teacher's life is burdened by marking of 30 students multiply by 20 worksheets = 600 worksheets for the teacher to mark over the CNY season....

My guess is Compassvale Primary as he is active in that thread.
