      phtthp\">

Do all pupils in your dd P2 class get to do these 20 pages (A4 sized) of Maths, or only certain pupils in the class given 20 pages ?
      Funz\">
Seriously, HA, special class, gifted or Olympiad, all does not justify 20 pages of math problem sums to be completed in 1 afternoon.
      Sun_2010\">
Frankly I would probably consider that too much even for P5 for a weekday homework. Even if it is restricted to one or two topics that is more problem sums than in an exam paper.
Also it depends on if the questions are repetitive does it make sense to do so many on the same day. If they are tough and different , then could be too challenging. Either way it is not productive.
      Hi

I had checked with my neighbour (same school in different class and teachers), their kid homework is fewer.

I had checked the math worksheet’s content; all are P2 standard (normal questions). I noticed that 1hr of homework, she was spending 30 to 45 minutes doing it and the rest of the time she is idling, playing or dreaming. 小孩也和大人一样, 也懂得吃蛇 - 偷懒.

Hoo's dd is in Rivervale Primary School? My guess since the school is competing against Nan Chiau...

Ah ha!! MOE officials may be secretly reading this page and tomorrow give instructions down to primary schools not to give 20 pages homework to P2 students. The teacher's life is burdened by marking of 30 students multiply by 20 worksheets = 600 worksheets for the teacher to mark over the CNY season....
        Hi

Teacher needs to spend more time than the students; she needs to mark their worksheets and to correct their mistakes! :salute:

                For Sports DSA -

the coach will arrange a day, request to see how your son / daughter play that particular Sports. Good or no good : the coach can tell

The coach in that Secondary school that your child wish to DSA into -
will also contact the Cca coach in your daughter’s primary school, obtain feedback about her.
                "Coach to coach" feedback communication

heard that those China coach that train kids up to represent school team, are tough & strict in discipline.

To train them outside, to take part in professional Junior championship, use these award for DSA purpose.

If join school team : is only inter-school competition category.
different from those professional Championship award category.

Heard that some kids train outside, preparing for Youth Olympics, to represent Sg.

Hi, sharing here that Algebra method is allowed to be used during PSLE Math Paper 2. Is Algebra method really better than model method? I prefer model method. Wonder what’s your preference?

I think there is no so called \"better\" method, and it really depends on the type of question rather. Sometimes using model method would be faster as it is easier for the kid to \"picture\" the solution. My take is if the kid is trained in both methods, just use whichever he/she feels more comfortable with and less cumbersome in order to save time. Afterall time is of importance in an examination. But for myself I am still more inclined towards algebra method, afterall our generation was taught / grew up with the algebra method. 😆
