        for 2015 P1 Cca this year -

heard that Rhythmic gymnastics full house : hot, very popular !
The same goes for Art Club.
My friends with P1 dd told me that some failed to get into R gymnastics Cca, nor Into Art Club Cca. They got channelled / assigned into some other third choice Cca instead, because they failed to get into their first choice, nor second choice Cca.

anyone know what kind of Art exposure, do our students get exposed to ? What do they get to learn, in Art Cca ?
pottery clay making, cartoon drawing, manga drawing, portrait still life drawing, oil painting, etc ?

Hi I thought that P1 doesn't have CCA? Was of the impression CCA only starts at p3? Please correct me if I'm wrong, thanks!

Cca is compulsory only from P4, not from P3, in our school

Optional means that P1 to P3 can exercise a choice : to sign up, or not to sign up, for a Cca.

However, There are a fair number of P1s that prefer to start Cca early, instead of wait until P4, since P1 is a \"honeymoon\" year.

for those who decided to sign up for Cca -
they can list down a few choices (in case they can't get their 1st choice), stating their sequence of priority.
Those P1 who had signed up for Rhythmic gymnastics or Art Cca this year, happen to meet overwhelming response, so end up some unable to get into either of these 2 popular Cca.

Some schools have CCAs starting P1.

Usually priority is given to P2s who were in the similar CCA the previous year. Eg: P1 in RG, P2 will be RG too. However, for those that not in CCA in P1, may not get the first choice to join RG in P2 as there are existing P2s who are in RG since the previous year. Unless they are going to open up more classes of RG on other days, they will not be able to cater to the additional demand of girls interested in RG.

Choir was also very popular. It seems. But I dono how it's being assigned. Cos my dd got 1st choice choir. But her classmate got into 2nd choice band but didn't get the 1st choice choir.

Just wondering whether it would be stressful hmm...
On this same note, (not sure if this been discussed before), but can I know the \"relevant\" skills that a girl entering P1 at RGPS must already have? E.g -must already be able to read fluently?, do math equation?, know how to swim? Many thanks for the advice!

                    Yes, Choir also popular !

one of my friend's P1 dd submitted her form, for 3 Cca choices :
                    1. RG
                    2. Art Club (because she love to draw)
                    3. Choir
she end up : given Choir

another of my friend's P1 dd also submitted her 3 Cca choices :
                    1. Choir
                    2. Chinese dance
                    3. Band (3 hr practice)
she end up : given Band

                    Chinese dance, also popular !

In Theory (on paper), Yes, for P1 : Cca is optional, compulsory only from P4.
But in Practice : quite a fair number of P1s had already signed up.

(sometimes, what's happening in reality & what's been defined on paper : are different)

                      hi another question:

anyone has their DD taking school bus in the morning from West Coast area?
What time does the bus usually pick your girl?

Also, sometimes when I’m out of town, I need to park my DD at my in-laws. They stay in Woodlands. Does RGPS school bus go to woodlands? Anyone knows the pickup time? Thanks so much in advance!

Hmmm...it actually sounds a little complicated (coz the days ur DD will be at Woodlands are not \"fixed\" per se. It is only when you are out of town). That one, better to check with the bus driver/the company. The bus fees would also be something else the drivers/company would have to work out. West Coast and Woodlands - not quite equidistant from RGPS....They might not be willing to make this arrangement.

A case in point: One of DD's classmate goes to before sch care. As there was a change in the sch care centre this year, the new centre wasn't exactly along the way/route for the bus driver. What I heard from the mother was, in the end, the grandma still had to go to the centre to bring the classmate to school (sch bus doesn't go that area). The mother had a hard time trying to find a suitable school bus arrangement. So in your case, West Coast and then some days Woodlands...you may have some challenges when it comes to making arrangements. Hopefully not, though!
