May i know whether anyone know about New South Wales Competition - International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS). If want to see sample questions or papers, where can i get it? What is expected of the child. Thank you.

Primary 2 ICAS (Australia / NZ) Test : for which subject ?

when is the test scheduled ?

Hi phtthp p2 English writing is on 1 jul, English 8 jul n maths 22 jul. Science is on 15 apr. Each subject is $9 except writing English is at $18:20.

think not all primary schools are invited, for P2s.

some schools are, others not.

what is the format like : for P2 English ?
because is set by Australia / NZ Moe, not Sg

Hi phtthp: My DD's school's PTC is only in May every year.

For those identified pupils, usually the weaker ones, parents will have a PTC with the teachers every term.

I find the mid-year PTC to be the most helpful as the teacher will give advice on how to improve on the weak areas and tell you the child's strengths.

But I don't think it is necessary to wait till PTC to find out the child's progress. As parents, we should be proactive to approach the teachers if we require feedback about our children.

The test scores will highlight the academic strength of the child so there is no point in asking how your child fares. But you can ask other questions like social-emotional aspect which will be more useful as compared to asking questions related to academic matters.

saw a lot of students at the zoo today :

P1 / P2 from Frontier primary, Zhangde primary.
Their school Tr brought them there

Some schools brought their students to the zoo.
Other schools brought students to Peranakan museum, stamp museum, Singapore historical museum

also saw a lot of students from Malaysia schools visit the Zoo too.
They come by load of school buses.

Tomorrow Friday : last day of Term 1
