Both schools run their own IP Programmes, though the students do come together in some activities and subjects.

They come together in year 5, which is the JC programme. There are no special ways of grouping them together.

They are grouped according to their subject combinations, and that includes students who join them from the O llevel programme.

The JC programme is a totally different and new programme, so all the students have to adjust.

But one of the keys difference between the IP students and the O level students is their experience in project work, which the IP students started doing in Sec 1 of the IP Programme.

their campuses are separated by the Bukit Timah & Dunearn Roads ...... though they do meet at the bus stops as they share the same bus stops but probably only when they get to J1 (year 5) then they will say to each other, \"hey, thought u look familiar!\" or ...\"hey,have been eyeing u !\"..... lolz

seriously I suggest u email the NYGH principal and she will tell u, or attend their open house to ask ... and let us know

Hi, I wonder if anyone out there has any experience with the type of Econs teaching Hwa Chong JC has for their students?

            Dear All,

My DS is in Sec 4 this year, a transition year, a crucial year!

Can some of you shed some light on important events, programs or decision makings so that we can take note in advance? Nowadays, children will honor their ownership of decision making, by the time we know he has missed something, it is already too late…

Another thing, how is Chinese education in HCJC? We attended a talk last Saturday hosted by Zhao Bao, SPH on Chinese exam in O level, eventually found that exam paper for IP students is different from the one for mainstream O level students. If a child is doing well in the year end exam, does he need to continue studying Chinese in HCJC? How well must it be?

Please, share me with your information. Thank you in advance!

HCI students take the O Levels Higher Chinese Paper in the end of the year.

If he scores a B or better for his O Level Higher Chinese Paper, he will be exempted from taken Chinese Language in JC.

You are right, that is MOE's stipulation.

But Hwa Chong JC chose to set a higher requirement, so in order to be exempted from HCL in Hwa Chong JC, you will need minimum a B in O Level Chinese.

There is a Parenting Talk organised by HCI planned for this coming Thurs, 8th April, 6.30 pm.
Two parents will share their experiences. Though primarily targeted at S1 parents, you can raise your queries about S4 during Q&A part. Need to confirm your attendance with HCI.

We don't get tested in Chinese. We get tested in Higher Chinese. We have no Chinese O Levels at sec 3, only HCL at sec 4.
