Yes. In 2014, hong wen took part in syf for chinese orchestra (co), guzheng (gz), chinese dance and choir. It had distinction in co and gz.

Just called the school bus provider if they pick up students from Bishan... The operator gave me a surprised tone and asked why do I enrol my kid in HWS when I stay in Bishan?
Should just enrol into a school in Bishan or <2 km. she say the driver normally only take in students staying within 2km from school as they need to take on other job as well. Haha, seems like I have another wake up call now.

Indeed my mind is made up. Haha, hubby says he wants to lay a path for the kids. At least HW is a co-ed plus SAP school, so both my kids can enter now, and in future our grandchildren regardless gender can also enter provided such phases (2A2) of application still exists. Haha.
Very practical and simple logic which I agree. Actually if my hubby parents were to have a bit of foresight back then, and donate a bit of money to the sch as requested, hubby wld hv studied in Pei Chun and now we also no need to headache. Now hubby pri sch already demolished.. all because my in laws don't want to donate money to a sch, so they rather send their kids to a further sch to study.
I guess in today's context, any good Schs that ask for donation, all e parents wld hv no hesitation to donate their child in. Lol.

Your DH school may be demolished, but was it ever merged with another? If so, your children will also qualify as kids of ex-students le.

Anyway, HWS is a comfy school and my kids have had fun in there. Know though that the school does not give scary tingxie/spelling or tests. If parents want their kids exposed to extreme academic challenges, this is not the place.

DS got the form for sibling P1 registration yesterday. I didn’t sign it so am not sure if it’s a survey form to ask if we have siblings of existing students to enrol this year.

You should have also received it. Else, check with the school.

My DH school has merged to become First Toa Payoh Pri..
I have told hubby that we cld also consider this sch since is not too far from our home and is very near to my in laws place.. But DH still say HWS. So I will be getting my report book ready in July..

Am glad to know that HWS is not so academically stressful as I know my son is totally not ready for P1 compared to his peers, hence a sch less stressful wld be ideal for him. However, am trying to boost his mandarin std via enrichment classes as it may be more demanding for SAP sch to hv a better command in Chinese for students... I guess.
