Hi senior high parents, have the school organise any career talk for the students? I heard from my dd, it should be somewhere in year 4. Which are the schools or orgnisation that came to the school for the talks?

1 These provide an indication of the grade profiles for most of the applicants admitted in AY2009-10. There could be other β€œequivalent” profiles for each programme. For example, a grade profile of ABC/C could be considered to be broadly equivalent to BBB/C, unless there are pre-requisites.

True, but when everyone applying for a certain popular course with perfect results, uni will base on additional portfolio and interview to select the better ones.

Once my niece wrote in to appeal when she couldn't get into Accoutancy, the reply was \" striaght As is a norm and not exception\". It clearly implied that with excellent academic results is not good enough for certain courses.
yup you are right. there is such a thing called discretionary admission in uni. those who didnt make it through results can still get in through appeal with a very strong portfolio

In the inaugural The Singapore Young Physicists' Tournament, two teams from RV were shortlisted in the finals. It is rather commendable that RV has always pushed the performance of its students to its limit and always create maximum opportunity for its students to participate in various enriching competitions and activities.

Receive term 2 letter for parents today. One good news - 3rd lang test marks would not be taken in total GPA calculation anymore. Now students can really take the subject with passion and not to stress for marks. πŸ˜„

The C Division Girls won the National Inter-School Cross Country Championships. They dominated the race with 5 girls in the individual top 10 πŸ™‚

B Division Girls did well too. Runners-up and 4 individual Top 20.

Think this is RV's first National Championship for a long long time, 17 years according to my child. The girls were given RV Sports Excellence Scholarship after they won the Championship.

No. She in another sport. On hindsight, should have let her join Cross Country as she was shortlisted. From my observations, the Cross Country runners are probably the most disciplined and focussed athletes in the school. You will get what I mean if you have time to see them train while waiting to fetch your dd.

Think they really deserve the Championships for their hardwork and dedication!!!!!
