Just want to find out. For RAD exam, is the color of the leotard, character skirt and character shoes different in color for every grade?

Am thinking if any of these can be reused for the next exam?

Yes, design of the character skirt may differ, for the same Grade

        eg:
design of the character skirt at the bottom worn by girls at Crestar for Grade 1 exam, is different from that of my dd, also same G1

for exam G1, the color of my dd leotard is purple.
other ballet schools wear pink. What about yours ?

Typically, the character skirt won't change unless your DD outgrown it. The ribbon colours around the skirts are chosen by the ballet teacher which should be consistent for all her ballet students.

The leotard colour varies in each grade so it has to be changed if your DD is taking exam yearly. Gr 1 & Gr 2, the character shoes are low heel. Gr 3 onwards, the heels are slightly higher for the character shoes. Classical ballet shoes normally change in Gr 3 to include the ribbon. However, I believe some teachers don't change this in Gr 3.

            Hope this helps.

Does anyone know the website link to watch the RAD ballet exam steps/moves?

Or only ballet teacher has this DVD that show / teaches all the steps and movement including the character dance? I only realise there is such a thing when teacher was playing the video during the actual exam day for the girls while waiting for their turn. Thanks.

                      Oh My Gosh:
Good luck to all taking their RAD Ballet exams 🙂

                      Thanks, dear

feel so relieved that exam over 2 days ago, on Tue (21 April)

On that day, early morning 9.30 am, the ballet Tr applied gel to their hair, bun up their hair nicely with a black, bun net & hair clips, put on a nice pink ribbon around their hair bun, while each girl waiting for their turn, to be called into the exam room. They all look so pretty. The examiner is an American lady.

Yes, members of public are allowed to buy the DVD - it will be showing the dance, not really the step by step way of how to dance it.

One of DD ballet mummies ask her London colleague to buy online for her, then shipped to her. There should be an authorised dealer in Singapore as well - maybe can check with your ballet tr if interested.
