No the kids are strong and capable and resilient. It is us parents who are so worried that our kids are strawberries and cant withstand even a little hardship, that we hover and protect till we make them mushy. My theory is most of us parents did not have much hardship. Yes, more than what the current gen faces but not the real tough life. But we grew up on the stories of how our parents and grandparents faced the horrors of what the war and poverty. So we fear, so we over-protect and so we dont want to take any chances.
Forgive me i am generalising, of course , it doesn't apply to all parents. Maybe you are one of them, maybe you are not.
After a couple of months, if the schools take a vote of how many students are ready to go to Mount Sinai campus, imho, a majority will vote in favour. Call be an idealist but somehow I believe there is more can-do-spirit in our youth than in us jaded parents. -

You already have WKS, NEH and JT who are office holders to grace such routine events in Bishan.

I won't say they are strawberries that they can't walk or take a bus. Definitely they can walk. But it's the accountability and the competency of the govt that is questionable. The affected parents and students just want to know why and what happened before the thousands of them walk the extra mile! If not, you want them to take bus to Johor also can.
Accountability issue is definitely something for the relevant authorities to address, but to suggest feeder bus just because of rain or the walk from bus-stop/mrt station to campus - that's obviously going to make some parents in ksp think strawberries or paper. How many schools had already used the campus as a temp holding site? What about the past RJC students?
If you think the shuttle bus suggestion is not appropriate and make the students look like strawberries, then you should quote the person who suggested this idea and ask him/her your question.
The affected parents and students just want to know why and what happened before the thousands of them walk the extra mile! Don't sounds as if they can't walk or made of paper, not fair to them.

On the coming discussion day, affected parents can bring up to The officer in charge, to provide shuttle service at regular interval early morning or after school at designated times during peak hour, or any burning concern that u have.
