I am so so sorry, I don't mean to make fun, but this is really funny :rotflmao: :rotflmao: And both schools being in Bishan.
Instead of Stanford Institution use Stamford Institution? Also part of Sir Stamford Raffles's name, I'm sure parents will love it. It will put the name be on par with the other premier JC.
That said, I really do like the name Trinity. It sounds elegant. The only concern would be the religious connotation. -
MotherHen:
\"Trinity College\" :rahrah: But agree it sounds a little Catholic

call it Stanford Institution is fine, but not Stamford Institution, although Sir Stamford Raffles bear the name, \"Stamford\" inside
US ones: Havard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford...

currently, this Stamford primary school, PSLE standard ... so-so

if name this new IP JC \"Stamford\" Institution : then next time, people can say, \"Let's go to Bishan, can see Stamford Raffles together \"
\"Princeton\" Institution sounds princely, aristocratic prestige, elegant, like a prince of his own high class
\"Harvard\" Institution also sounds great, can produce a lot of bright, intellectual graduates
wah !
next time, \"Princeton\" Institution or \"Stamford\" Institution, or \"Harvard\" Institution, can fight with \"Raffles\" Institution, men ! -

good idea,p,since SJI is the bottle neck obstacle holding u affecting all the IP students herephtthp:

If MOE is serious about getting an interim site within the Bishan-AMK area so as to live up to its earlier commitment, given the govt resources, it should be doable.
Alternatively, why not assist in expediting SJI's renovations to have it completed by end-2016.
You are right! If SJI can return the ITE Bishan site by end-2016, the parents will be in a happier mood attending the dialogue.[/quote]I'm not sure what the ITE Bishan campus is like. Does it have to be extensively refurbished to make it suitable for a JC? Is so, I think there's no way the new JC can occupy the premises, even if SJI can shift out by end-2016, since the first batch of IP students from the 3 schools is due to start JC in 2017. -

actually, this name \"Trinity\" is feasible, very nice name
\"Trinity College\" :rahrah: But agree it sounds a little CatholicMotherHen:

perhaps after a while, people forget about the religious part, just accept it as another educational Institution of higher learning. -
I think more forward looking, springy and classy type of school name would suit the younger generation.
The school can have a naming competition after they sort out the more urgent issues after 25/5. Trust the kids to come out with more creative , innovative names than us. -

best to ask the pioneering boys and girls to name the new IP JC themselves, since is going to be their JC after all, and they are the pioneers : what name would they like to see appearing, printed out on their GCE \"A\" level Certificate ?I think more forward looking, springy and classy type of school name would suit the younger generation.

at 16 yo : they are big enough, to look into this matter, they have far more creative ideas than we parents -

:offtopic: Anyway, back to urgent issues on hand! -
25 May meeting is tonight : Monday night, right ?
so, all of you going down, to attend urgent matter, with your burning questions all ready to bombard HSK ?
