You can always try... someone I know rented out their condo but STILL USED the condo address they rented out to apply for the famous school at Bukit Timah and got in! The school found out about it but still let the girl study in the school... So you better have a damn good reason on hand for the school to buy the reason...

These locations in question are all within the Bukit Timah and Dunearn stretch. So a distance of 2 km passes by quickly in a moving car, if you are familiar with the traffic there at non-peak hours. A difference of 1 km in distance is almost negligible.[/quote]Then u definitely need to terminate the lease. If they do spot check, u need to show that u are living there. Whether u stay there 24/7 or once a week, they can't check and can't enforce.

If not, how are you going to teach your daughter? Please make sure she understands the difference between false and fake. If she used it wrongly, it will cost her marks. For those who signed rental lease of 1 year will now be trapped, especially if the condo is in prime district.

Super rich won't face this problem because

1) they would usually be staying near the school
2) can afford.

for those (not super-rich) who plan to escape after 1 year lease is up : do not intend to continue renting anymore to fulfill 30 months compliance, if they are found out or caught, with this new ruling implemented, wonder what consequences await them, besides their kid get transferred out by MOE ?

Indeed regrettable. What started out as a correction of what a fake address meant became a \"get your facts straight\" because you didn't understand it as a correction. I'm sorry i said your daughter. As parents, we are also constantly learning. If we are unable to have a humble heart and learn from our mistakes, we can't teach our children. It's nothing personal really. I just hope that you know the difference and able to accept that these two words are different. It may be ok in normal conversation, but it isn't alright in writing.

Similarly, 'median' isn't 'most'.

Most of all, I hope as parents, we display some form of integrity. This is a value that we need to pass to our children. If we can't do it, how do we tell our children that they should not tell lies and do what is right?

Does it means if my kid is going to be registered this year and i bought my new house this year hoping to go for the <1km priority i cannot do this now or does it means i just have to stay in the new place for at least 30 months after the registration?

It means u just need to stay at your new place for at least 30 months.

It means u just need to stay at your new place for at least 30 months.

thats what i understand also but i have many people telling me otherwise...so that means now renting is difficult but instead need to buy the property. thanks mashy

I’ve got a question from 2 friends:


Let’s say I’m in Phase 2B, be it GRL (already served >2 yrs) or Church affiliation (already baptised).

I just bought a <1km property less than 30mths ago (I now stay there) or am currently leasing out my property to someone (i.e. I don’t physically stay there), will I be grouped with the <1km people or the > 2km people, in the event balloting was required for Phase 2B?



Will they spot-check me?
