Raymond's Math Studio - Discussion

Horrible. I had sign up my girl from Nov 14.
The teacher basically just rush thru the topics, only 6 weeks had already covered 3 p6 topics. Started another topic before completed the previous one. Feel that is not systematic .
The worst is the school allowed teacher to change schedule and arrange his own make up lesson. After sign up, then realised many lessons reschedule to another weekdays which gave us so much inconvenient, this wasn’t bring up before we sign up. Contacted the admin, they don’t even know or I shld say they don’t bother, just ask me to contact the teacher myself. But after days of waiting still never get reply from the teacher.
Its their fault to change the lesson to weekdays that my dd can’t attend, still want to charge us fees for that missed lesson, until I insist not to pay.
Decided to withdraw. -
There is no such thing as guaranteed results 100%.
As an educator, we all know that the students have a MAJOR role to play in their own results.
If a child wants to improve, he/she has to take the first step in working hard. Merely 2 hours of tutoring a week won’t change anything. -
Bad experience with Raymond Math n Science Studio. Raymond is so rude and arrogant. Treat parents and students with no respect. Poor management too.

i am looking for a science tutor/centre for my P4 gal, her science result drop from 60 plus to 50 plus !
i wonder what is wrong, she did past yr school paper and assesment, i also bought the orange science theory book and explained to her, but she doest understand and the exam questions are those she didnt learn before which i doubt, as her other fellow classmates are able to score 60 plus and 80s.
can anyone feeback if Raymond science or any other centre is good?

So is Raymond'studio a good place to choose/attend? because I had just enrolled in Raymond'studio. after reading the posts I am worried about the choice I had made.

Will be good if anyone here can share about this centre - RMSS. Anyone’s child in Bishan branch or any good teacher that you would recommend for P5 level next year?

Raymond Studios getting greedy. They changed their policies.
First they charge 1 month’s deposit for each subject. if your child attends maths , English and science you will be paying 3 months deposit total.
And they just change their public holidays policy. they are not going to replace the missed classes and even make you pay the full month’s fees without refund and is not going to prorate the month’s fees. Why is there unfair treatment ? those students attending classes that are not affected by public holidays will have more lessons than those with lessons that fall on public holidays. -
My child attended the science last year for just one term … I find it expensive and teacher changed schedule … And my child feedback was negative so I withdrew.
Elder child there too for o level … But not effective as he comment waste time so withdrew too. Expensive fee and replacement got to rush all the way to Katong -

Just to say, Raymond Math is not the only one practising these policies. Some Centres do the same, eg Mindstretcher. MS collects deposit for every subject you take and no make up classes for those that falls on public holidays. On the other hand, no extra charges for months when you get 5 lessons, instead of 4.Raymond Studios getting greedy. They changed their policies.

Agree that there are centres collecting deposits. but most don't and even if they take deposits, its sometimes just a basic $100 per subject. not the whole month's fees. Just imagine if a child signs upfor 3 or 4 subjects then its like estimate of $1000 per student, with that many classes and students Raymond studios have, that's a lot of money. And the deposit is not refundable until the student withdraws or graduate. just imagine if I start from sec 1 till sec 4 then its 4 years . They can just put the money in the bank and earn fixed deposit interest...Wonder if IRAS knows that... they should audit.

For the public holidays not getting replacement. its a unfair practice. no matter which centre. We are paying for tuition per lesson . 4 lessons for a month's fees. Why the discrimination ? the other students not affected by the public holidays will have at least 5 lessons more than those affected. its already BAD enough that my child will miss 5 lessons but I have to PAY for it !!!! that is nonsense.
