Hi lovekidsverymuch,

Actually, I will prefer them to use the adults toothpaste, but I think they may not be able to get use to the \"plain\" flavours. Unlike the children ones, they have many flavours. Sometimes, my kids may just swallowed the toothpaste cos they like the strawberry's flavours. They told me the taste is like sweets.

Yes true thats why everytime my son's toothpaste is getting over his new list is oredi ready with sometime blueberry, strawberry etc etc

Oh, your son really like to try new taste. My kids will tend to stick to only strawberry flavours. I tried to change flavours for them, but in the end still back to strawberry flavour. 😄
nmhmum, my kids use non-fluoride ones even up till now - age 8,6, and 4.

They don't quite like the minty- taste.

        Hi Andaiz,

Thanks for your view. But I realised non flouride ones seems to be not very good cos they don't really remove the yellow strains throughly.

yeah, but longterm flouride doesn't have very good impact on teeth.
        :|
Maybe see got any dentist here that can answer our queries. 😄 Another question is if the kids are so used to children's toothpaste, my concern is they may not want to switch to adult ones even when they reached teenagers.

Yes and its opposite I tell them to stick to one and he changes last time he made me guy grapes one then said its very sour :stupid:

But I think overall, the strawberry flavours one still have a acceptable taste. I don't really like the bubblegum flavours. Its really smell awful.

I'm no dentist, but this was what my kids' dentist said : move your kids to adult tooth paste as early as possible. There's something about those kiddy ones that's no so good, compared to Colgate (or any adult ones).

My kids started using Colgate when before they turned 3, and never look back. Healthy set of teeth todate, with no fillings, no nothing. :xedfingers:

              Hi Eagle-Ladybird,

Thanks for your views. But can I ask how your kids get use to the adults toothpaste? Normally adults toothpaste will tend to have some mint in it. I believe most kids will not be able to stand the mint cos they may find it too hot. So which colgate series did you buy for your kids?

Yeah, my DD’s dentist mentioned the same. Use toothpaste with flouride.

We just moved our son's to Colgate. I did notice that some toothpaste specifically state that it's for persons aged 12 and over, and some don't. I assume the latter is safe. Anyway, lots of gargling is necessary.

Think would be best to switch my kids to adult toothpaste or toothpaste with flouride. Any recommendations?

Thanks for the highlight on the age. I better see the instructions before deciding which brand to buy.

Haha, it was quite tricky. Need a bit of coaxing/encouragement. What worked for me was to get my son, who's older, to start first. My son likes to imitate Daddy. So if Daddy uses Colgate, it's matter of time he will want to try. Once we got our son on it, our daughter who's 1 year younger would also want to try.

Took a short while for them to get use to the mint and burning sensation. So what they used to do is to ask me to brush for them quickly. So it'll be like : 1,2,3 go . . . , and then they will quickly rinse off their mouth.

Both me and my wife would then reward them by excitedly/deliberately asking to smell their breath, and give them this \"wow, it smells so fresh and nice\". And every now and then we will complement their white and healthy teeth, to make them feel good.

Even up to today, they will still run to us to show off their clean breath after they brush their teeth on their own.

                        Good luck on yours !
