Hi all,

anyone’s DS from Sec 2 who has gone to the Sec 3 updates talk last week? It gives me a feeling that only the Elite students will have more options to consider for next year. ‘Normal’ students do not have much choice though, and for the 3rd yr boarding did I not hear wrongly that they only open to 180 students out of the whole level?

For CLEP, I also not quite sure what they learn, think regarding some chinese literature or stuff Think they also touched on Journey to the West, 唐诗，金庸, etc. seem quite chim for me (maybe I don't know how to appreciate) but so far I see ds enjoying it.
From my understanding (not sure correct or not), when the kids report for school on day 1, their orientation package will include an option form for this if they had taken HCL for PSLE and passes Chinese with A*.

My boy had applied to 3 schools as he could not decide initially but he got offers from all 3 so he is back to square one. :yikes: I told him to think about it only after PSLE.

Do all HCI boys take the O-level Chinese paper (not HCL) in Sec 3? Or do they only do the O-level HCL paper in sec 4?

Hi ,


For current students/parents, do you feel that HCI places more emphasis on Chinese or it is more balance? The reason for asking is that many people say HCI - more suited for DC that likes chinese and RI - suited for DC that are weaker in Chinese but good in English.

I am worried that my DC cannot cope and I also cannot help much because my Chinese is half-bake.

Appreciate some sharing
