I learnt some things the hard way.

Forgot to say that if the maid runs away to HOME, or runs away to the agent, employer should immediately make police report (whether the report is needed or not later doesn't matter), and on the same day, buy a plane ticket at the earliest date (repatriation procedure complied with as this one you cannot avoid anyway), and then cancel the maid's work permit, to sever connection with the maid. There might be a chance that someone will help the maid to hurl charges at employer. Show the plane ticket and cancelled work permit to MOM officer and lodged a complaint with MOM (never mind even if they don't do anything about it, it is in their record already).

Thereafter if the maid stays on to help in the investigation of charges against the employer, it will be none of the employer's business. MOM AGENT HOME will push the costs to you, you push it back to them.

Looking to hire a maid. Does anyone have advise on which nationality is better?

Does the nationality make a difference in the amount you pay?

Thinking of hiring a maid again. If only a maid can work in two households it will be good. Some days with me and other days at my parents’ home. Don’t really need a full-time maid. Yet, there are still many chores to be done around the house.

              Hi

You can engage a part time cleaner to clean the house for you.

If you have a maid, you need to supervise her.

                Hi

The starting salary for new maid is the same for Indonesia and Philippine.

Filipino is more educated hence got attitude.

Indonesian maid you might have language barrier as their English standard not so high.

Some small agencies I spoke to told me their indo. maid can reach spore in 2-3wks and when I called a bigger agency like Nation maid agency, was told it’ll take 2 mths for the maid to arrive spore, due to some MOM regulations, which that guy said small agencies doesn’t adhere too…

Why the difference in timing? What’s the truth? Can someone pls help me with an explanation?

                  Thanks in advance!

At the same day of making police report, we buy a plane ticket with future date flight date or the day itself ? If the maid stay to assist in investigation then she will not be boarding the plane based on the plane ticket we bought for her. Are we still liable to ensure she is repatriated back.

Sorry is Anyhowsay1 who shared and I belived she has better idea.
She mentioned we buy airticket with earliest date.
2nd, if thing turn out ugly, any investigation, is a pushing game between all different party.

                        Hi Hopes

                        Thanks for replying.

It is quite inconvenience to the employer if the maid was to do such things to drag employer for nothing into investigation.
