      Hi all!

My girl will be going to Pei Chun next year! Understand she will be in afternoon session next year and in P2. Are there usually extra activities that require her to be in school in the morning? Also, when do pupils usually start staying back for CCA and extra lessons, from Pri 3 onwards?
      Thanks!

        Hi

My DD did PSLE in 2013. During her time, in P2 kids are talent spotted for the niche sports i.e. volleyball, basketball and table tennis. During the briefing session, the P then emphasized even if the kids are in sports class, if their studies are not going well, they will be given an option to drop out to concentrate on studies. In P3, these kids go into 2 sports classes. In P5, the kids are streamed again. The more academic kids join other classes - therefore leaving only one sports class for P5 and P6.

Edit to add: Yes other kids can join the niche sports on a recreational basis. In my DD P6 year, due to attrition, there were insufficient players for the school team, so other than the sports class kids, new school team members were sought from the recreational players. Not all school team members are from the sports classes.

        Hi,

For P2 to be selected into P3 Sports class, the child needs to be selected to join one of the niche sports right? Is there only one sports class? Is academics also taken into account when choosing a child to join niche sports? Also, is it possible to join the niche sports (e.g. volleyball) on a recreational basis?

        Thanks for sharing.

My girl is P5 this year.

For the niche sports, there is a selection process by the coaches... Academic results will not be taken into consideration. Actually, only P5 got one sports class.... for P3 and P4, I don't think there's any streaming...
Yes, one can join the niche sports on a recreational basis.

You will be able to find out this on the orientation day. If you can't wait, go to school website, under \"contact us\", \"vendor contact information\" you will find a link to list of bus driver contact info and route, you can call the driver up to check.

              Hi aloyboy,

Thank you. Btw, i saw someone mentioned Pei Chun will be moving to a holding site in 2017. May I know where will be the holding site? And is the holding site confirmed?

Hello Parents, in PCPS P5 class posting, I heard that there are only 2 top classes although we have big cohort size of 360. That means students in these 2 classes must be very smart and competitive. Are these 2 classes equally good whereby the top 80 are put randomly into 5A and 5B or top 40 go 5A and next 40 in 5B?

Do you know in previous years, what is roughly the minimum score in order to get in to these classes, example 350/400?
I am not sure if my daughter has a chance because this SA2, her results become very very bad. I almost fainted when she came home and told me her scores. It's my fault because I thought she was doing very well in P1 to P2 and foundation should be good so this year, I focus the younger ones and neglected her. I am worried if she can improve in next year P4. I heard many people says in upper primary, results continue dropping only, impossible to improve one. It is very scary! 😞

She is hoping that she can be selected to be a prefect but I think selection is only in P3 right?
If P3 she was not selected for prefect interview, that means no chance already right?
I do not know why it seems like every girls' dream to be a prefect and I keep telling her this is not important but she still keeps on dreaming!
In her class, she said only 3 or 4 selected for the interview, very few because in my friends' children school, each class has 8 or 9 prefects.
