The difference between Burberry and Blue Label is the target audience.
Hi Schweppes,
I think in the case of Japan, I personally found it quite confusing. Eg. besides blue label, there are 2 types of burberry. In the dept store and in the boutique. Dept store prices are around S$500 - S$700 but those in boutique in thousands. Maybe it's the product design and positioning. Probably, their dept store burberry only cater to Japan market. -
Busymom:
The Burberry Blue Label is sold in Japan as this is part of their marketing strategy. Japanese youths and teens are a growing affluent market for luxury brands to capture, hence Burberry decides to focus on the Jap teens and youth market. The brand will probably expand into the region once there is a market for this line.
It's not the colour. The blue label is made for the Japanese market only (maybe made in Japan? :scratchhead: ) Heard that the design is different from the normal Burberry, more casual-looking. I have never seen them before, not so sure myself.
I believe Burberry has signed on Emma Watson (Hermoine Granger of Harry Potter fame) to be spokesperson as the brand wanted to target the younger audience. Guess, they want to rejuvenate the brand to be more youthful and trendy. -
MMM:
Agree that it cd be due to positioning of selected product lines. From what u mentioned, guess there may be a communication gap in the marketing strategy

Oh they are brands already shared. Tag Heuer and Rolex.Busymom:
[quote=\"ks2me\"]This one true for me for watches but not for bags.
I have 3 solid good watches that can last me a lifetime. I have many good bags but never seem to get enough. *sigh* It's a sin.
Can share which brands are your 3 watches :please: ? Trying to do my homework which watch might be a good investment.
Bags... I hope I won't succumb to temptation again this June
If you are truly a timepiece collector, you really should look at Jaeger-LeCoultre:

It is well known for its clean-cut look and great precision.
It is like the German's BMW
This is their Euro$275k watch that people can go gaga over.....

Only thing is, the reverso is also rectangular in face, same as my other mechanical which is a glashutte. Also, JLC is nicer with a leather belt, not sure if it is harder to maintain.
Apart from JLC, any other recommendations?

Just like Fendi is the younger range of LV.
Some examples are Coach and the Coach Poppy series, the Emporio Armani and Armani Exchange, and even Victoria's Secret and VS Pink.
Blue Label Burberry however has one difference, London Burberry sold the rights to Japan to only market this in Japan, so Blue Label is not outside Japan. The other thing I observe is the traditional beige, black, maroon checks print is minimised in the Blue Label Burberry range. -
Why you all so high class one?
I donβt even dare to step into the designer shop cos i know i will step out of it empty handed!
Ferragamo shoes are lasting, but i wonβt want to wear the shoes for 10 years!
Eh, btw, do you all wear high heels to work?
I wear 3 inches heel daily, mostly wedged ones.
I have a pair of flats that i wear while driving. -
My black patent Ferragamo survived a few hours in a flood and 'lived' around for a while.
Just keep drying it with paper towel or cloth. Low heat dryer briefly if you must and let dry in aircon

It's not high class lah. I don't buy Prada or Gucci shoes as these are the more fashionable ones in my opinion. Ferragamo is comfortable and does not give me blisters. I don't wear heels. For casual, the more flat the better. For work, 1 to 1.5 inch is ideal for me.Why you all so high class one?

Thanks for the tip. Think it was someone at a shoe repair shop who told me not to use shoe wax. They were recommending some kind of spray instead.
Hi Busymom,Busymom:
:offtopic: How are men's shoes supposed to be maintained? I thought shoe wax will crack up the shoes eventually?
My DH uses a dry cloth to wipe the surface of his shoes. And every morn, he uses kiwi wax to polish them. Or else I do
He uses Johnston and Murphy brand. Says its v v comfortable. Polishing them has never 'cracked up' his shoes and they have lasted for years.
