2019 PSLE Discussions and Strategies (Children born in 2007)

This year's batch is the first to sit for the revamped English syllabus...mainly composition and open-ended comprehension. I am keen to know if there is any fine tune because my daughter will be sitting for psle next year. Also, she is the last batch using the old science syllabus.
MOE is going to revamp PSLE grading system. The first batch of pupils affected could be the current Pri 3 pupils born in 2006 or current Pri 2 pupils born in 2007. Changes need time to work. Remember the PSLE change in English Syllabus? It was announced to public 3 years ago before it was introduced to our current batch of Pri 6 pupils this year who are the first batch to try out the New PSLE English syllabus.
Any changes to the psle system is unlikely to be implemented with immediate effect. -

your daughter (born 2004), P5 this year : won't be affected.
Otherwise, Moe would have announced by now, to get parents & students in this batch, mentally prepared to face the new Psle banding weightage system.
kids born 2005 (P4 this year) : also unlikely, to be affected.
But, kids born 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and thereafter : ? -
For our batch, apart from -
English psle format change, Chinese Oral format change to Watch short video clip, Science change to include some new topic, what else change ? -
with any change of education minister, parents would usually worry about the changes. any changes to the primary syllabus won’t affect my daughter who’s already in p5, but the secondary syllabus would affect her (if there are changes).

Can intro any good tutor or Center for English?

Hi tare1919,
You can try my dd’s tutor. She usually has many students (>15) who has been with her for many years (my dd has been with her since pri 6). However, some of her students have cleared their major exams (including my dd who took O Level) and thus, she is able to take in more students.
If you are interested, she can be contacted at 93989072 (Miss Goh). Hope you find this useful. -

As far as I know for my dd’s school, the P2, P3 and P4 still using old format Chinese Oral. The video type of Chinese Oral was implemented in P3 and P4 @ Admiralty Pri Sch, one of my friend’s son study there. Heard it was quite easy for him to score. The boy is very fluent in Chinese and Chinese Oral to him is very easy.
