      Hi, all,

For me a good agent does not mean they w have good maid.

      My personal view:
      1) money matter
Agent fee not necessary the cheaper or expensive.
During selection/interview of maid, no charges.
Upon confirmation of maid, paid only min sum ($100-$200)
After arrival of maid, pay in full ( agency fee, procesing fee n loan).

Issue maid - upon return to agent, loan will be settled in max 3 weeks (21 days) or earlier upon transfer of employer.

No charges per day when maid transfer back to them.

      2) pro employer (in certain extend)
I look for no hp n no off day.
This is clearly spell out to maid during interview n written contract.
      Again during hand over.

There r million of woman looking for job here.
No point force or cheat each other on this arrangment.

I feel that no point argue fight for a handphone ( ok now is no longer hp is smart phone).

      3) Can give advice to maid.
Not necessary scream but with reasonable help. Available 24 hours.

      4) No cheating on biodata
What I mentioned is no seriously cheating :-
Under age 20 claims is 23 even they r aware.

Ex Sin with 3-4 employers and stated as one ex employer only.

Interview n actual maid is the same person (this is what i read from forum)

No hiding on any fact like allergy, afraid of dog …

Any other important points I have missed out?

Hi Hopes or anyone, may I know if I want to employ a new maid and was told the maid I selected that her passport will expire in 1 yrs time... Is it still ok to employ? Agency said no prob. to renew her passport next yr? (Work permit valid 2yrs)... Is it true?

        Thanks!
The work permit validity date is always ONE month before maid's passport expiry date. You have to renew her work permit after she renews her passport. The insurance will be issued for 2 years though.

I know the above as I have been in the same situation before.

Finding a good maid is hard this days. There was a time I used to change maids frequently ,now i have learnt to compromise. Usually when helper is good, people say good things about Agency , if the helper is bad, Agency gets the blame.

However we need to ask ourselves, do you think the agency would know how the maid attitude is when they give us the maid ? ok, there are some "bad" agencies out there but not all are like this.

I have 2 maids now from the same agency and even recommended to some mummies here and also , relatives. Most are happy . I think basically Employers also must know what they want and be reasonable. When I tell my maid no HP, i always tell them the reason but yet I do give them a mobile and my own SIM so that when they take my kids to school there is a mobile. Trust has to be given there, and so far it has not been abused.

Initially when they just came, I need advice ,i would check with my agent and she has never ignored me. This is what I call after sales service.Sometimes, she educates me on how to do things right too.

Hi, I'm the unlucky one as my Philipino maid went back home after 2 years and called me that she is not coming back.

Now really doubt if I really need a maid but this few days had been real busy for me as I hv 3 kids so decided to get one for another 2 more years to help out.

Could anyone know of any good maid agency to recommend? Thank you.

Hi, I'm getting my maid from http://www.besthelper.com.sg previously, fortunately the maid I got from this agency is good, And the service they provide also very good, they came to my place after my first call, sit down with me and my family to explain on the details, show us biodatas and even shortlist for us, prices are reasonable, very responsive. My maid already been with me for a while and no issue at all. But unfortunately my maid contract going to end soon and she doesn't want to continue. Definitely going to this besthelper.com.sg again. Just something to share.

Hi, thanks for your sharing and recommendation. Could I check who you had liaised with and if there are anything for us to look out for?

For me, i was liasing with Phng@86605975. Really helpful. Do check if they provide any inhouse training as my maid went for the training by them.

                  Hope this helps. 🙂

                        Hello!
My maid has been with me for about 3 months, she is from Indonesia.
So far the problem i face is mainly communication as my maid is fresh from indonesia so her language is not that strong. However, thankfully its getting better and i got to say luckily Phng didn't go MIA. HaHa. I called him a couple of times to talk to the maid which i feel it helps. Also did Phng tell you about the inhouse training he provides. He told me that he focuses on the manners and attitude of the maids. if he never talk you can ask him, coz my maid seems not bad in terms of attitude and manners.
Overall, I am still happy with my maid and the service Phng gave.

                        Hope this helps! 😄
