Hi All, noticed compared to past years, CHIJ Katong pri's places available in 2014 is higher. Does anybody knows the reason(s)?

Not only CHIJ Katong but other popular schools too. There were more vacancies available for the respective phases. I guess it could be down to the 40 places reserved for 2B and 2C.

Find it strange that parents don't go for schools like damai and east coast even if they stay very nearby? Didn't hear much from parents whose children study there.. So really have no idea. Something wrong with the schools? O.o

my dd's friend in Damai pri. He love the school.

:boogie: My friend's child in Damai Primary also. From what I know, they have two niche (Team Sports and Aesthetics) which shows that the school is into holistic education. She told me the school organises very effective Meeting with Parents workshop that is beneficial to the child's academic performance. I suggest parents to go into the website of the schools they wish to enrol their child in. I always believe the school website tells a lot about the school.

i am dilemma between Temasek Primary school vs Poh Chin Primary. Both schools confirm i can get a place for my daughter entering P1 in 2018. I am staying in tampines.

Any insights which is a better one?

Temasek Pri ( Hubby’s sch)

Poh Chin (SAP sch)

I’m a Yu Neng alumni. looking at past year results… it seems to be going down a fair bit. Slightly worried. Any current parents of Yu Neng care to comment on how the school environment is now?

My boy is in Yu Neng, at P2 level. I am happy with this school and my boy enjoys going to school (which is very important). If any of you need more feedbacks on this school, you may PM me.

Now with the changes in psle scoring system which will affect my child , seems like choosing a school which gives equal emphasis/ are strong in Mother tongue matters a lot. It is not that useful for the stronger subjects to pull up the weaker ones to have an edge over the others, as the impact is small. Guess I have to relook my choices... :scared:
