Can any parent share what your p6 kids are doing in school everyday after the exams? My DS is so bored and he said there was nothing exciting happening in school everyday. No sports or outdoor activities allowed due to the haze. Only play board games or read in class. No more lessons and the teachers leave the children to their own devices. The only excursion they had was to visit the plant whereby NEW water is manufacturerd. Actually the school has a yearly 3-day trip to Malacca but thus time round is cancelled due to the haze, much to the disappointment of the children. The haze really spoils the celebrative mood of this year's post-PSLE days. :gloomy:

usually in class we play board games and read, nothing much.
my school organised three field trips, to science center, discovery center, and rws sea aquarium.

Your school certainly has more outings and activities planned for you compared to DS's school.

Yesterday, the students were given a 2-hour talk on social etiquette. DS said they were taught how to walk and sit and properly especially for girls who wear high heels and skirts. Supposed to learn dining etiquette too but time was limited and it wasn't covered.

So far for DD she has busy with some social study projects to raise fund for some charity. There have been outings and in-house programmes organised as well. So far coding, social etiquette and dialogue in the dark.

My DD’s sch has Maths and Sci projects where P6 set up booths in halls to introduce fun games on Maths/Sci to lower primary next week. It seems a good way to promote interaction between P6 and their younger "siblings".

but there isn't much school time left so p6s should just try and cherish the time left with their primary school friends & primary school life

My DS school arranged for come secondary schools to come and give a presentation of their secondary school. they also had an inter-class frisbee competition one week after PSLE as they did not have mass games day due to their prelim. Last Thurs to this Wed, school arranged learning journey everyday to bring them out so that they do not disturb the juniors who are taking exam. After that, they are supposed to discuss about the jumbo sakes they will be having on the last day of school. Last few days of school there will also be some asethetic classes for them. Left with just 3 weeks to the end of their primary school life, hope they enjoy their friends company and have fun together before each part their own way.

Hello parents!


I'm one of the students from PSLE batch 2015 and I was hoping if any of you adults could clear some of my unfazed queries regarding the new PSLE system that will be introduced for the first time this year.

I swiveled through articles in the net but I've yet to come to any with detailed information at all, other than basic ideas. I do know that this system is as fair as Buddha's teachings unlike the past where our true potentials are shadowed by competition. However, I'm quite impatient and at least want to know if I'm even eligible to past.

Frankly, I do not hold the average Singaporean intelligence most of my peers seems to have. Yeah, maybe somewhat powerful in English and Foundation Mathematics compare to others, otherwise if it wasn't for my father's appreciative and encouraging gestures, I get kill for getting a 58 for Science. So honestly I'd be proud for getting something above 140. Roughly this are most likely scores for my PSLE:

English: 85
Foundation Math: 85
Foundation Chinese: 55
Science: 45 (Let's say I might've saw an oval unshaded on the last second and only quarter of the OAS sheet were rectified)

Straight up: this year's change of the PSLE's papers format was the intensity, definitely significantly easier. I'm almost positive I could pass briskly with an aggegerate I'd consider 'high' if it wasn't for the change of moods after the last paper; Science. However I won't let that indulge my conviction to pass, but I'm still curious. So will I be able t pass? What's my rough score?

In my opinion, the PSLE system has been tweaked such that majority of the students will not be "killed", while those with high IQ or "street-smart" will have higher scores. The papers are generally easy to pass, save for 1 or 2 difficult sections whereby IQ would be the differentiating factor.

Looking at your post, I am rather amazed at your intelligence. Don’t worry, I think the new PSLE system will benefit students like you. Meanwhile, enjoy your holidays and do not worry too much!

Very impressed by your strong writing skill. I think getting 85 for English is probably an understatement given your writing ability. Don't worry. With your strong English, continue to work and expose yourself to language and you will be able to do well in life :boogie:
