Would you have more kids if PSLE is not so stressful?
-
I feel that there are more issues that are multi times more stressful than PSLE.
-
PSLE is not the primary concern for me and hubby.
There are many factors for consideration.
It can boil down to having quality time with spouse ,
1-1 attention for child,
financial means,
child bearing over age risk,
Getting trusted caregiver
Overseas job opportunities
Some above examples are real issues of what my hubby and I have experienced. We are happy to have our only daughter. -
I don’t see psle as an impt exam. Rather, it is a gauge of my child’s ability. Hence, there is no stress from me & dh. The high stress came from school instead! For me, there are more impt values & character building aspects at this age to focus on than academics.

A P6 exam has so much sway over how many kids we want?
Age
Finances
Caregiving support
These are the things that I would consider. Not some exam. -
PSLE is not the reason why I stopped at 2.
It’s more to do with affordability, age, and caring for the child.
For most women, giving birth to a child is easier than bringing them up. -
Haha… Not even if someone offers me 1 mil for 1 more extra kid that I have now.
Too much responsibility, tiime and effort r needed to make sure a child grows up well. -

Money will not entice me to have #3, not even 1 million.Haha.. Not even if someone offers me 1 mil for 1 more extra kid that I have now.

I've enough of waking up nights to change diapers, express milk 24/7, cooking porridge before going out, fever during teething period and after jabs, weaning off milk, terrible 2s etc. :dowan: -
My dd1 is more scared than me..I used the no.3 to tease her..and she will always say no, I had enough
But the last time when I teased her.. she says ok, let meimei be the jiejie -

1 million is not the point. I simply don't have the energy for the above-mentioned to have #3. i'm already struggling with 2.

PSLE stressful - yes! but deciding /major factor in taking a decision for another child - NO!
My major reasons would be
Age/health
Support
Finance
Actually I long for the diaper changing, the bonding, the joys and worries babies bring. -
it’s not the money. it’s the time, lack of energy and fear of going through everything again to have #3. I am so relieved I do not need a maid anymore.
even if I have money to employ a maid…getting one who is willing to learn, teaching her the basics and putting up with her black face ARE the killer factors. -

If I could turn back the clock by 5 years, I would. But that's me. Throw in $1M would lighten the load. Now that we have gone through PSLE, we know it's not as bad, and know how to deal with it. However, DH would never agree.
