      Hi sembgal,

      Heard from the mentor that anything below 3.5 is consider no good. So 3.5 cannot be very good. The average in ds class is 4.1

      Thanks for sharing.

      Even though is year 1 at NUSH, I heard from the child's mum, who mentioned anything above 3.5 is considered very good.

      Of course below 3.5 is no good. But every class average could be different.

      Sembgal, lurline, may i know how do Nush compute gpa? what marks equiv to how many pts and how many subjects are taken into computing consideration?
      Tks!

        Those turning 13 years old, heard highest score was 4.8/5.

        Anything above 3.5 is considered very good. My friend's child has no tuition can score 4.4/5. This school is really for those whose PSLE get A* for Sci and Math and all the best students are in this school. Very competitive. Another friend's friend's son didn't do well, got depression.
        There are also those who got 4.9 and 5.0.
        These students would be in the top 5%.

                  Hi,
                  I am sorry, I don't know the marks range for each grade.

                  For Graduation CAP, you can have CAP with or without MTL.
                  For Graduation CAP all subjects( those with point grading) taken from year 3 onwards will be included.

                  For those subjects taken in yr 1/2, point grades are recorded for record only.

                  CAP of 3.5 is definitely not impressive. CAP 3.0 - 3.9 is Merit.
                  See my earlier post, this year around 75% of the students pass with Distinction (4.0-4.4) and High Distinction (4.5 and above).
                  There are students with Graduation CAP of 5.0 with MTL. How many, I don't know.

                  Hope this infor is useful.

                    From what i can recall, it is

                    Lower Grade Upper CAP
                    85<=\tA+\t \t 5
                    80<= \tA\t<85\t 5
                    75<= \tA-\t<80\t 4.5
                    70<= \tB+\t<75\t 4
                    65<= \tB \t<70\t 3.5
