Can anyone advice how many sets of uniform/PE will be sufficient?

Can NYPS girls wear the NYPS skirt if it still fits?

Your dd is coming to NY? Welcome! :rahrah:

Hello! I was from NYPS and the skirts in NYGH are slightly different from NYPS. During orientation, if some students couldn't get NYGH uniforms they would wear their school uniforms, so maybe it's good to keep it around. If not, nope

:thankyou:

Thank you all for the input and welcome.
Guess have to bring a fatter wallet to registration.

[exhaustedmum]

No need fat wallet... can use NETS!!

But I was really shocked that it cost me $360 to buy 3 sets of uniforms, 2 sets PE and books !! :yikes: I didn't even buy these textbooks coz my dd1 can pass down to dd2 (History, Geog, Math 1 & 2, Food & Nutrition and HCL)! Chemistry alone costs $65 coz the bookshop lady told me the school requires us to the hardcopy + softcopy (given a product key for download in Sec 2 when they use Ipad).

The bookshop ladies are very helpful.... they will advise us on the length of the the school skirts. They say the school is very strict with the skirts of sec 1s which must touch kneecaps. Uniforms must be worn everyday so 2 sets is not enough.

As I'm not one who wash & iron the laundry daily, plus the fact it's white in color & my gal perspires easily since no Aircon, within 2 months, I increased from 2 sets of uniform to 4 tops 3 skirts. Similarly started with 2 PE sets & before end of Y1, I have 4 sets.

[exhaustedmum]

4 sets of uniforms!!

May I know for those who have already DSA, will we still get any SMS tmw from MOE? Will we also be informed of our 3rd lang choice?

Hi, I have purchased the books and uniform 2 weeks ago to avoid the long queue on the registration day.

May I ask if the students will know their class allocation on Dec 23 ?

Thanks

4 SEC 1 ORIENTATION
The Sec 1 Orientation Programme will be held from 4 – 8 Jan 2016.
The Orientation Programme will give students an opportunity to
know the school, to learn about the various CCA groups and most
importantly, to ease the transition from primary to secondary school.
Students get to interact with their teachers and peers, an important
element to building up the Nanyang school community and their
integration into school life.

The Orientation Programme schedule will be given to parents at the
Sec 1 Registration. Please note that this Orientation Programme is
compulsory and students are to report to school in full NYGH
uniform by 8 a.m. on 4 Jan 2016. Students are to check the
noticeboard outside the General Office for the class allocation before
reporting to the school hall for morning assembly.
Student leaders will be around to assist them.

I understand the school bookshop is run by Popular.

Do we get discount on textbooks and stationery if we are Popular member?

[Sunshinedragon]

May Iask, got the text from MOE that my DD has been posted to NanYang Girls High Express. So that means in IP or O level? Cos I’ve stated NYGH IP as the first choice.

Thank you.
