dd has gotten B3 for HCL which is totally unexpected as she is a A student for Chinese all way long. DHS does not offer retake of HCL which will leave her the option of taking on H1CL or leave it be. She is worried that the B will affect her A level results as she has one less distinction. Will it affect university admission? Should she consider to take on H1CL which is kind of time consuming? Need some advice on it from parents… Thanks.

Which UG is more popular in DHS?

What about choir, Chinese dance and English dance?

Is it possible to retake HCL as a private candidate if DHS does not offer that?

No. Cannot register as private candidate if the child is studying in a school...

Think you can try Bus 158. It should stop near Mountbatten. However, my DD prefers to walk to MB station. only about 10 to 15 min.

If a child takes HCL at O level and did not receive good results, the only way to \"retake\" is to take H1CL. There is no more \"retaking\" of HCL at O level at any of the JC at A level. If your child is aiming for prestigious scholarships or prestigious institution of study or competitive courses like medicine etc., yes, it may be a every subject counts and having a good result in Chinese may matters. However, she has to be prepared to spend 1 year in JC1 doing Chinese. Otherwise, Chinese is not required for uni entry computation and she can forgo taking Chinese just for the grade.
