This is definitely for Y1 to 6 discussion
usually Sec 1 parents are more on than JC 1 parents
So your ds is considering HCI?

Hi Song22, thanks for your reply.
I don't see much discussions or talk amongst JC parents n students n yes, DS is thinking of HCI. -
Hi Parents, my son is in Sec 2 ProEd. Can you please let me know more about the streaming at the end of the year? What are the choice available and what are those considered top choices every year? Anyone knows what is a high level projection of the cut off points for each stream in general?
Thanks -

yes, there is a subject combination talk, usually in the second half of the year.
The assessment and promotion criteria can be found on the HCI website. If you're looking at special programmes like Humanties Prog, Sci/Math Talent Prog, you can have a look at http://hscse.wiki.hci.edu.sg/Intro-EntryReq2, although the criteria may vary a little from year to year.
there are basically 3 \"streams\" - the Special Programmes, the normal IP, and the SIP for those who don't meet the promotion grade.
There are no \"top\" choices either (although everyone will try not to go to SIP).
Some boys who qualify for the special programmes don't opt for it due to various reasons, those who like humanities will hope to qualify for HP even if they qualify for the SMTP, those who are good in Sci / Math will aim to go SMTP.
A lot depends on the boys' preferences! -
Actually i shouldn't say \"good\" in a particular subject, cos a lot of them are good at most subjects! i think having an interest in that field of study is probably more accurate.

There will be a Sec 2 Parents' Symposium on 30 January at 9am (Saturday). Usually the P will speak to the parents and let them know what's coming up this year and will explain further about the streaming at end of Sec 2.Hi Parents, my son is in Sec 2 ProEd. Hi Year 1 parents,
Has anyone of you tried to login into http://lss1.wiki.hci.edu.sg to get the LSS materials following the message by Mr Tan in EMB.
I tried to follow the login instructions (userid and password) but kept getting the error message \"We couldn't verify your username and password. Please double-check them and try again.\"
Appreciate any advice. Thanks! -
Sec 1 newbie question again.
