Elmomum:
Hi, please share your view on Poi Ching Pri School? How's the teachers and will it be tough for kid who is not in chinese speaking environment?
My child is in P1 in PCS tis yr. So far so gd, his teachers are very caring but strict. Expect lots of homework/assignments and tests though, especially for chinese. The kids use 2 sets of chinese texts from P1-2, the MOE HCLPS as well as the Yunyu text developed by the sch. The expectation from wat i saw in the newspaper article prev is for them to master the chinese wordbank of a P6 student by the time they complete P2. We are mainly Eng speakers at home but I am amazed his chinese improved by leaps and bound after 3+ terms in sch. -
Hi, I understand that based on balloting history, there was a need to ballot even under Phase 2B for St Hilda’s?
However the eventual take up rate was lower than its capacity therefore there were slots left for Phase 2C.
Does this mean that everyone was eventually offered a slot under Phase 2B but because some rejected their slots there was balance.
Just wondering what happens if I was under Phase 2B, balloted and was unsuccessful but the successful ones chose to give up their slots. Does this mean I will be offered those slots or will it auto go into the Phase 2C pool?
Thanks! -
If anyone withdraw from Phase 2B, it will be brought forward to Phase 2C.

Hi all,
My boy is at K1 this year and I am considering Gongshang or Tampines pri school. Any advice on which is better? Also do we need to do volunteer for these 2 schools?
Thanks in advance. -
We are PR within 1km of many schools, but the most convenient for us, is ChongZheng and Gongshang…which unfortunately happen to be rather popular neighbourhood schools. Ballot history stated there has been balloting for SC within 1km for Phase 2C. Does that mean we stand no chance at all?

Anyone has kids in st hildas pri? Can share if it is very stressful for them? As it is a good school I’m just afraid it gets overwhelming for my boy who has an anxiety issue. And any after school care?

Hi,
We are looking to get my boy into a school for 2017 in Phase 3.
The choices are: East View, Yumin or Angsana.
Is there any parents on here with kids who registered in above three schools in 2015 under Phase 3.
We would like to know any chance to get into!
Thanks in advance. -
Hi All

I’ll be registering my kid this year for Poi Ching, any parents will be too? Understand the school focuses quite a fair bit on Chinese, how can I prepare my kid for this? Are there any recommendation for Chinese enrichment classes?
