It's organized by CMA, so if you are with CMA, you should have been informed about it. Weren't you?

      Hi,

How to become a member of CMA? Have to enrol with them? I am totally unaware of this CMA until I saw from tv advert. Possible for you to provide me with more info?

My son learn his abacus near to the home so I am not aware of all the other organisation.
      Thks.

CMA is another centre that offers abacus course. You can find out more about it on this website: http://www.cma.com.tw/index.php

They have a referral scheme whereby both of us will get a discount on 1st month fees if you enrol by providing my son's registration number. Please PM me if you are keen!

By the way, I can tell you the competition was so amazing. I don’t know whether to laugh or to cry about it.

First and foremost, there were more than 1000 participants! The highest record ever! Last year, there were only half the numbers.

On one hand, you can’t believe what the organizers put the kids through (sitting through the ‘speeches’ before the competition begins), ‘mobilizing’ them during the change from mental to abacus competition… :x - and the CEO did use the word ‘mobilize’!! All these while, the parents are seated in another hall watching via the big screen.

On the other hand, you can’t help being proud that the kids could pull through all of that and happily get a trophy or two (every kid gets one for each competition they sit for).

The annual CMA competition is coming up in May! This year, registration is limited and on a first come first serve basis. Kovan is given 48. How about other branches? Kaypo-ing 😉

I feel this is better as last year's participants were overwhelming. And the trainers probably encouraged everyone to participate. I wonder why the centre doesn't allot places to the best students...I suppose it is to give everyone a fair chance to participate?

              Will you participate this year?

Each centre is given a % based on the number of students they have, so the best ones will be selected first, if there are more than the number they can send in, the students will go thru an elimination round. That’s my understanding from the info given by my DD’s teacher.

Yeah, we were informed of the competition and told to submit the form fast… but don’t know if we had submitted on time or not.

This makes more sense than a strictly 'first-come-first-serve', I think. Which branch is your DD from JCE?
