Your schools are really fast! My dd's school just started on Forces. They did energy for CA1. Web of life and adaptations, Man and his environment all not covered yet. For Maths, they just started on Circumference and areas of circles. No nets or pie charts yet.janet88:
i only managed to squeeze in 'web of life' revision...hope
SA1 doesn't include adaptations. daughter told me science teacher has been getting class to do MCQ questions in PSLE booklet for homework...there is english daily revision well for editing, synthesis and comprehension, so can hold back on my side.
My dd's school has not covered web of life nor adaptations yet. They have finished forces and are currently doing topic on energy.
I remembered they dont do the PSLE booklets so early. Only a few weeks before PSLE.
All schools prep for PSLE differently though. -

Time flies. 3rd week of term 2 already yet my DD has not started on her revisions. I am
:nailbite: :frustrated:
but she is still nonchalant. I dread the coming SA1 :xedfingers: -
Dd took psle last year, has no tuition. I resign my job mid last year to fight the battle with her. You have the whole of June holiday to prepare. ε ζ²ΉοΌ

Don't panic. In Primary 6, CA1/SA1 are no longer important unless you are trying DSA. Its just revision n test of how much you know n which areas of weakness to improve on. The big pix is PSLE.
There is still time to start working on PSLE during June holidays. Best not to overdo it as it may lead to early burnout. So long as your child is consistent in her daily work, there shouldn't be any issue.
In recent years, PSLE is now more manageable than before, so calm down.

I was contemplating that as well - is it tough to return back to the workforce or are you still a SAHM? -

PSLE is indeed manageable but it is the stress of how well DS/ DD perform among the cohort which scares parents like us :stupid:nicnac:

Oh My Gosh:
PSLE is indeed manageable but it is the stress of how well DS/ DD perform among the cohort which scares parents like us :stupid:
I do understand how you feel as I went through the same stress with my kids 7 years ago especially so for my DD who belonged to the cohort which started using calculators for the first time. That year, the Maths paper was super tough n many parents/students cried aloud! Subsequently, the Maths paper was set more realistically after that year.
We all want our kids to do well n go to our preferred choice schools. But the end result will not be so important so long as your child puts in efforts, work hard n incalculate good study habits. Also be realistic in your expectations in your child's academic performance. I know it's easier said than done n I also went through a hard time trying to adjust my expectations.
Also, it's not the end of the world if your child eventually didn't get into the preferred choice school. My DS didn't but he still did fine in Sec School. Our road to education is very long n PSLE is the first major national exam. There will be more to come which are even more stressful because the stakes are higher.
I am just sharing with you my personal experience with PSLE and subsequent national exams' challenges. Upon looking back and sharing with my kids about their PSLE experiences, they feel that we parents tend to go overboard where PSLE is concerned.
