How many seats are left, at ACS (Junior) ?
Answer : 154 - 65 = 89
In contrast, How about ACS (Primary)?
only 7 seats, left
which school is more popular, or much harder to get in ?
Is it Junior or Primary ?
There is a very big difference, between 89 seats vs 7 seats left, isn't it ?
The number itself : indicate which is easier to enter, doesn't it ?
Why, so ?
Primary bear the Gep status, whereas Junior doesn't bear Gep status.
Junior is ordinary, Mainstream.
At the end of Primary 3 -
If your son in Junior is offered Gep by Moe, after clearing 2 round of P3 screening tests, he can transfer to Primary readily, as Junior is given priority to transfer to Primary, if student can clear the tests.
If you refer past P1 registration stats, somehow parents have this urge, very keen to enrol their kid into Schools, that bear the Gep status.
Look at so many parents eager to enrol into Nanyang, Henry Park, Catholic High, St Hilda, Nan Hua, Tao Nan, Rosyth. -

Your reasoning may apply for Phase 2B onwards but for 2A1 so it's only for alumni (2A2 for former students). If they wanted to, ACPS alumni / former students cannot apply to ACJS as they are not alumni of the junior school.BigMomma:

I am an old boy. Quite a number of us had no idea about GEP, the specific school programs etc - I certainly don't and am only starting to educated in the last couple of weeks when I read this forum more actively.
For most of the old boys, it is quite natural to send our sons to our old school.
I think it's just how the numbers lie this year where quite a few old boys' sons are born in 2010. Some have also mentioned that ACJS was a smaller school in the old days hence less old boys compared to ACPS. By contract, ACJS is a larger school today with 270 seats vs. ACPS's 240 seats also add to number of vacancies for subsequent phases. -

No. Only those who studied in either ACS (Primary) or ACS (Junior) are considered old boys. Even then, they can't cross-register. Alumni of ACSP are only eligible to register for ACSP. -

On a more related note, looks it's balloting for 2A2 for ACS(P)..... -
28 students registered under 2A2 for ACS(P), but only 7 seats are available. Therefore, is it confirmed that 2A2 will have balloting? Is it rare in the recent years?
