Thanks. But I'm within the 1-2km range so I wonder if there's still a need for balloting?
Looking at the take up rate so far,
my gut feel is that it will be same as
previous year to ballot for > 2km.
But then again, if my gut feel had always
been accurate, I would have been rich
playing the stock market.
Sigh... my son is bouncing happilly around not realizing the stress his parents are going through right now.[/quote]The kids won't know until it's their turn to register for their kids.
wait for the 2B to finish before you look at the numbers again. Many unknowns only increase anxiety. -
Hi,
I am new here and joining group as my daughter to register P1 this year, my 2nd & 3rd born in year 2012 & 2015.
We are SPR, and only able register at 2C
Is 27 Jul open for SPR as well which our home is less than 1 KM from school, if application greater than vacancy, our turn only after SC fill up.

parents are stressed over p1 registration while the kids are happily bouncing around…their stress will begin when they start p1 because it’s no longer a honeymoon.

I registered my dau in CHIJ (Toa Payoh) under Phase 2B. I have been calling the school since yesterday and they can't give me the breakdown based on the number of applicants within 1km, 1-2km & more than 2km.. this is really stressful. How do I know what is my chances like?
Hi shaanu
Relax, you only need the number for within 1km. For the past 10 years, no balloting for those within 1km.
TUR till 2A2 is 58%, although its higher than last year. the other time that TUR is higher than 58% is year 2006, 67%, and that year balloting for 1-2km.
But if you really want to have a peace of mind, try going down to the school if you haven't done so and see if you can check with someone on 1 data - how many applicant within 1km.
and to jmi, take note on the result for IJTP, it will give you a good gauge, don't put too much stress on yourself

You can register as soon as phase 2c commences. As Long as no balloting required, you will secure a seat in the school. If the DD is greater than SS, then all Singapore citizens will he absolute priority... If there are still available vacancies, there will then be balloting amongst the SPR, then that's where your <1km, 1-2km and >2km will come into play.Hi,

Hi shaanu,
IJ (Toa Payoh) can't give you the number now, because the numbers keep changing, as people still walking into school compound, to register.
towards close of Phase 2B : they should be able to give you the numbers
around 3.45 pm, on the last day of Phase 2B :
people will tend to rush, place their final bet for 2B, after \"surveying hard\" for past few days. -

Thanks Lexy. I needed to be within 2km of SJIJ and 1km of IJTP based on past years' history. Already gave up my Phase 2A chance.shaanu:

Ehhhh on the contrary, the morning registration period has ended at 11am…so now is a good time to call the schools for an update. I just called SAJS…apparently will have balloting for those outside 2km.

When do they close registration today? 3:45pm?
