2016 P1 Registration Exercise for 2017 In-Take

Miren:
What are the chances for phase 2C at Sjij. Am SC living within 1km. Experts pls help.
SC children living within 1 km of school have first priority to get into the school. Worst case scenario, they will still qualify for balloting. This is better than many others (those beyond 1 km or further may not even stand a chance to ballot if SC applicants within 1 km exceeds the number of vacancies available).
So, if you are keen on the school, can try.

so out mentality shld be
just go try … if cant get in then move on to next phase / school or
every school is a good school so no need to go compete and ballot … just go to school with most vacancy lolz -
zac's mum:
Yes, multiple births may take up seats in Phase 2C, but only if they are the last ones to be balloted in Phase 2B. Otherwise, they will just take up places in Phase 2B.Orb:
Yes this is the final numbers. The balance (if any) will flow over to 2C.
This is only true for the undersubscribed schools with overflow.
For those oversubscribed schools, if there is balloting taking place this Friday, u may see the rare scenario of twins/multiples taking up more than 1 seat...leaving fewer seats for phase 2C.
The good news is that parents do withdraw from schools which they got places in earlier Phases - even those schools which are traditionally hot schools. So you may end up getting 1 or 2 extra places for Phase 2C as a bonus. -
charlie_brown:
Seems very few schools balloting for SG less than 1km for phrase 2B. will it be like this for phrase 2C?
Not necessarily. Need to analyse the historical demand of Phase 2C to get a better sense. -
Technospaz:
I'm curious - do people call the school to check the possibility of spots in P2C? I know that it's hard for anyone to make an assessment now but they may have a prediction. I just wonder if the schools will entertain calls from eager parents.
I doubt any staff of the school will want to say anything that might be construed to a commitment to which they cannot promise. Your only recourse is to monitor the take up rate each day. But you can probably get a sense of what it is going to be by looking at our historical statistics. -
Does anyone know the phase 2B breakdown for St Andrew’s Junior?

MommyK:
Does anyone know the phase 2B breakdown for St Andrew's Junior?
Why do u wish to know? My info is as at 12 noon on 2nd day of phase 2B: 14 SC <1km (all got in)...and at least 33 SC >2km. Not sure how many more applied/withdrew during the afternoon period.
Are u one of those >2km having balloting on Friday? Surely the school would have informed u of how many in total competing for how many seats? -
AppleCrumble:
The TUR for 2016 so far in the area look strikingly similar to 2012. That year, SJIJ ballot for 1-2km. But having said that, there is an outside chance of a ballot within 1km, which happened once in the past 10 year history (year 2011).Miren:

and one more thing, Miren, the similarity applies to ACS P as well. Let's not forget the leftover (6) for 2b within 1km for ACS P would probably try again in 2C, so it seem more challenging for ACS P.

see reference: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/novena[/quote]Would like to add that the balloting for SJI Jr <1km were caused by parents coming in last minute to register at SJI Jr because they wanted to avoid balloting at ACPS and ACJS. or felt that their chances at both schools were not to their favour.
