3 weeks is way too short if she’s the only one using. Current maid was the same - less than 3 weeks for a tube of toothpaste and about the same for shampoo. Pls note that DH and I use the same type and size, and we take about 1.5 months or more to finish the toothpaste (2 persons hor, and we also brush twice a day).

When she first came, we provided, but after seeing how she used, we told her to get her own. Since then her toothpaste/shampoo miraculously lasts much longer.

AND. When she was first here, I told her to call back home (using my hp). Wahhh, that fella buey paiseh, talk and talk....like cannot end. Learnt my lesson - buy phone card.

First phone card I paid, she finished in one sitting (dunno how she called - it was when we weren't around). After that, we told her to get her own phone cards.

This kind cannot sustain :moneyflies: .

How can in one sitting :!: yes better to let her buy own one, my maid till now ok with phones and stuff we give but u never know when they become funny

We also quite amazed - my mum had to counsel her to save her minutes and not call for fun. But she's the buey pai seh type. Once she called while we were still in the house...and she was twirling the cord, chatting away happily and we are just seated like 2 m away watching tv.

Previous maid was more 'aware' - she would take the call in the room when no one is around; and she would be fairly fast about it. So not qualms paying for her phone calls.

It's more the personality I think. First few weeks, all will behave well (with few exceptions) - then the 'tail' starts coming out - this how my mum puts it.

Haiz... My maid accidentally spilled hot boiling water on my DD2. :faint: I want to send her back asap just because she isn't remourseful at all. She was a very good maid, I trusted with my 2 DDs (DD1 - 2.5 and DD2 1.4) I understood it was an accident partially my fault as my kitchen gate was broken and I had no time to replace it. But I cannot stand her bo chap attitude, acting as though what happened was not a big deal. My DD2 had 1st and 2nd degree burns.. :stupid: Can anyone help me? What's the procedures like? I wanna send her asap but her agency has gone bankrupt. Very stressed!!!!

            :?:

Hope your kids are fine now. The procedures are :
            0) buy the bags for her belongings (if needed)
            1) book a flight
            2) cancel work permit online and print out the S pass
            3) Look for any agent who are willing to send the maid to the airport on your behalf for a fee
            4) Make sure she acknowledge (and sign) there is no outstanding salaries and claims from you and family
5)Be calm n nice till the end (I mean hold your smile even if you don't feel like). There is a less likely chance that she will be nasty with this reaction.
6)Make sure your kids are not around when you send her off. Keep your knives if you prefer on that day unless you are very sure she will be sane upon hearing of her departure. See her pack.

            All the best to you.

Thank you for the step by step guidance. Its very reassuring. I'm currently on number 3 before i go to number 1. EVeryone says not to tell her about letting her go and I agree. I will tell her in the morning as her flight will be in the afternoon. I hope all will be okay. Thanks for all the support from you guys here.

Yes I do agree 3 weeks is way too short let them pay themselves then they will know how the money flies 😉

Thanks, all of you for sharing. U are right, sometimes i can't understand how she finishes so fast. So i shall just ask her to start getting her own. 🙂 saves me a lot of frustration also!

Put it this way, when she uses her own money, you wouldn't care if she uses it up in one day. I'm putting my money on her suddenly using her supplies up very very slowly going forward. 😛

The maid agent will advice us not to buy for them 2.

Well said!!! If it is their own $$$, they could decide how to use them, just like how we would want to decide how to spend ours (on them). Honestly, if they are reasonable, we would not mind blessing them with these right? It is when they start to take the blessings for granted, that is what puts me off and withdraw!!!
