2016 P1 Registration Exercise for 2017 In-Take
-
I think (and hope) that the spike in registrations for "Day 1" this year is really due to the availability of online registration which resulted in many parents choosing this route instead of having to take a day off to come by on Friday.
I don’t think it’s necessarily reflective of a spike in demand. I’m not suggesting that the over-subscribed schools are bad but rather that parents have taken advantage of the easier process to get their kids registered early (so Day 1 now includes Day 0) which shows a bump in registrations which will (hopefully) taper off today and tomorrow.

Not understand. Does it mean that we only have one school to apply? If we withdraw it during this phase, can we apply another one? Thanks.isya:
hi there,I registered at westwood primary yesterday morning..as of 1030 am,was 83 applicants(sc 1km include online)..they state the breakdowns..after I fill up a form,I have to go to the counter whereby the staff there will register for me again thru their computer system and also.photocopy all my original documents...the staff there told me if.balloting required and im unsuccessful,I have to go back to the school and withdraw and then wait for the next phase and register for another school..is it like that?? :scared:
If you are not successful in any Phase, you remain unregistered. There is no need to withdraw your application from the previous school. Just go to the next available school and register there for the next Phase. But if you are really interested in the previous school, you should put your child's name on its waiting list. I have known several cases where parents get called up in December with good news. -

this phase, can we apply another one? Thanks.
MOE allows you to apply to one school only in any phase,. If you decide to try another school, you have to withdraw and reapply at the other school. -

totally agreed with you ..ChiefKiasu:
168 registered for 73 seats :scared: :nailbite:
Yes, big surprise. Nan Chiau's demand this year in Phase 2C is even more fierce than last year's! Last year only 166 registered after 3 days, while this year, there are already 168 applicants. I suspect that many of these applicants may be PRs trying their luck, so keep your fingers crossed. Then again, the whole Seng Kang area seems to be rather hot, with Sengkang Green also severely oversubscribed.
Whatever it is, if you are not within 1km of these 2 schools, it is time to execute your plan B.
i am within 1km i also executing plan B lolz
Actually the school called up those PR and those > 1km to withdraw. The school has stopped accepting > 1km from 10am yesterday. The 168 is most likly all sc<1Km -
called peihwa yesterday evening.
36 walk in application, 30 1km, 6 >1Km
3 online application, the sch didn’t provide information on the online application.
if we will to assume the 3 online application is from 1km, then anyone who stay >1km away will have to apply somewhere else.
this is just the numbers for the 1st day of application. so we can be quite sure that this year peihwa will have to ballot of <1km.
less babies for Tiger year but they reduce 30 seats for this year. -
I am taking leave tomorrow to apply. So going there to access the situation. From my understanding, Pei Hwa don't divulge the figures like how many within 1km, within 1 - 2km or more than 2km SC or PR. Unless maybe tomorrow a lot of parents are pressing. But ok, I will try my luck with the phone.. Thanks!
grapevine:
On MOE website : Pei Hwa 39 applications for 31 placesbrainkuku:
Anyone has any updates on Pei Hwa? My dad helped me to go to the school and check seem like that is no board stating the current statistics. And the people at the registration counter say full!!! But I am within 1km!!! Ask my dad to go to Keming.
Keming 91 applications for 96 places.
Despite this, you can still apply at Pei Hwa, I suggest you do it online. The school cannot refuse applications even if they are oversubscribed. But if all 39 applications are SC within 1 km, you may need to ballot. If you want to call the school to ask how many applications are SC within 1km to be sure. And consider if the ballot risk is worthwhile. All the best. -

Anyone knows what is the breakdown for Punggol Green Primary School?
Did you have a look at this URL?
http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/punggol
Last year Applicants rate is 127% (final result) already resulted in balloting. But this year Day 1 already 139%...
Thinking................. Straight away withdraw and execute Plan B or hold on and see how but go thru another risk in Phase 2CS for Plan B... -

Then this parent sit at the registration refusing to leave after she barge her way in and try tell the admin y they should let her ballot when her house >1km. All of us were :siao:
