I read about this too....and I recalled in another thread, some mummies said their girls start having period really young (ate alot of chicken).
Really, what thread is that? Must go and read up.

Is it only chicken, what about pork or other meat? Personally, I hardly eat chicken these days, even though it is white meat and supposedly more healthy...
      dimsum:
Thus, I hardly feed my boy chicken but alot of salmon. But now, I read from here about the high mercury content in salmon! Oh dear, what meat can he consume now?
Other fish like cod fish? I think pork should be ok, right?

hmm, when my bro was young, my mum, being the traditional one, kept feeding him, until he was quite plump, as a toddler and as child...when he grew up, he complained to my mum, saying that he is fat/plump because of her. and he has to go for operation to make the stomach smaller.

        :faint: So vain!

That's why I limit chicken to my kids to once a week. But they also eat chicken in school too 😐 . I usually buy the sakura chicken (sold in fairprice) as they claim they don't use antibiotics (not sure abt hormones). Also avoid eating the neck (even for pork) and wings as I heard that's where all the hormones accumulate.

I'd go for organic chicken if it's not that ridiculously expensive. It's not like before when all chicken are free range and organic w/o putting a lable on it.
Will check out the sakura chicken. What about egg? Heard certain eggs are better?

Hats off to you, Busymom! I'm tremendously lucky because I didn't have any adverse reactions to the bowl of pills pregnant women have to take every morning, bleah.

About DS' eczema ... I'm suspecting it's seaweed bcos of the timing. Sugar is so hard to cut because that means no juice even. 😒 Will leave that to the last resort ...
Actually, I didn't have adverse reaction, but I just prefer to rely on natural sources. πŸ˜„

Allegic to seaweed? That's something new to me...

he is not vain, he is quite a laid back chap but because due to health, he has to go for the stomach binding. dun think that it’s good to go for such operation, after the operation, he cannot eat a lot, tiny bowl of rice can make him full and he has to eat slowly.

Does it really work? Any side effects? If not, maybe I shud ask my DH to do it then as he's plumpy since a little kid. Now his mom is blaming me for not taking care of his precious son, although she's the one who didn't instill a healthy eating habbit into him during his childhood :x
(I should probably move this to the IL thread  )

                    minnie,

i think it's ok. I'm still nursing my dd twice a day. πŸ™‚ natural antibodies. cannot find anywhere else. size is relative lah. healthy is best.

but i think i need to drink more milk myself!

Actually, I love that warm closeness with the kid. Unbeatable!! πŸ˜„

It was quite hard for me to stop it esp. for DS as I knew I wouldn't have another chance to do that since I had decided to stop at 2 kids. I enjoyed the closeness w/ my babies and nothing can replace that kind of mother-child bonding

I am quite suaku. 1st time heard of sakura chicken. Do you mean kampong chicken? For egg, DS eats kampong eggs while daddy and mummy eat the cheapest eggs available on the rack.

sorry ah busymom, my memory's failing. Can't rem. the name of the thread. I tried searching for it but to no avail.

apparently, poultry has higher level of those growth hormones injection as compared to cow/pigs.

Just to share, I did some googling and this website categorises fish from highest mecury level to lowest mercury level. Hey, salmon is classified under lowest mecury level! Code fish is under lower mercury level.
                        http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancyhealth/fishmercury.htm

This is consistent with the info i found from other websites too. Ok, will continue to feed him salmon. πŸ˜„ My mum said threadfin fish (ngor fish) is good for young children. I am not sure why.
