Anglo Chinese Family of Schools

Hi Chief
Just to confirm if I'm required to join the school's alumni since I'm a former school boy. Am I right to say:
1) If former school boy AND join alumni will fall under 2A1; while
2) Former school boy WITHOUT joining alunmi will go under 2A2?
If so, do I have to be really kiasu and pay $$$ just to go in one phase earlier. How assuring will it be if I opt not to join in securing a place in ACS? I could put the money to better use  .
Appreciate your reply.
Thanks

Based on the past three years (see link below), no need to join OBA. But I was just being kiasu.

You are right. And we have not seen balloting at anything earlier than phase 2B for the past 3 years. Save your money to get something nice for your spouse and kids this Christmas....Am I right to say:

Hi.. any parents can share about ACS Junior? How they fair compare to ACS Primary? I see ACS Primary more popular than ACS Junior? -
girlizz:
Depends on how you gauge popularity I guess. ACS Primary is harder to get into because it has a larger pool of old boys. Therefore, by the time it is Phase 2B/2C, quite a no. of spaces would have been filled. ACSJ is also much sought after but as the no. of old boys are lesser, there's usually more spaces by 2B/2C. So the probability of getting to ACSJ is higher than that of ACSP.[Moderator's note: Threads split and merged.]

My understanding is that the PSLE results of ACSJ is better compared to ACSP.
By the way, ACSJ moved to a new premise this year and the school is huge with brand new amenities. I think this is a plus point. I've yet to regret placing my son in that school (although it is still very early I guess :P). -
Hi Angeliatay,
