      MittenMom:
My DC wants to go NJC for the AEP program. What are the chances of being selected for AEP? How many applicants vs successful candidates? Is there any pre requisites? Have to be winning art competitions prior? What does the portfolio required for the interview and selection process need to have? Any information greatly appreciated.

Hi MittenMom, there are no pre-requisites for AEP. During reporting day, NJC will make available the date for AEP selection test. Interested applicants will take the selection test and can bring along their portfolio if they want to. I don't think there is an interview. The results will be made known by the first day of school as students taking AEP are grouped into one class (similarly, those taking MEP are grouped into one class). After being selected, the students go through several AEP lessons before committing to taking it for 4 years. More details can be found at https://www.moe.gov.sg/education/secondary/other/art-elective-programme

Hope the information is of some help.

Hi, parents. My psle result is 258+2, and I intend to NJC. How about Badminton CCA in NJC? Is it difficult to join? Thanks

If I remember correctly, any Color is fine as long as it is mostly white and not neon color.

I'm not familiar with Badminton CCA, but as far as I know, joining CCA of your choice in NJC is usually not too difficult as NJC does not have DSA Sports, so you don't have the situation where most of the spots in the more popular sports/CCA being already taken up by the DSA kids.

Hi chesfel, mommyNg, The school sent us an email with regards to attire check (via LMS) in Feb 2016. This is the link it referred to: http://nationaljc.moe.edu.sg/life-of-njcians/student-management-discipline/, scroll to the bottom, under Attire & Grooming, Inappropriate footwear. The pdf document contains pictorial illustrations of approved shoes. On a separate note, my dc wears black.

I guess the most important point is as long as it is not garish, it would be fine.
