Hi, may I know what is the color for shoes for junior 1-2?

If I remember correctly, any Color is fine as long as it is mostly white and not neon color.

Hi, parents. My psle result is 258+2, and I intend to NJC. How about Badminton CCA in NJC? Is it difficult to join? Thanks

I'm not familiar with Badminton CCA, but as far as I know, joining CCA of your choice in NJC is usually not too difficult as NJC does not have DSA Sports, so you don't have the situation where most of the spots in the more popular sports/CCA being already taken up by the DSA kids.

Hi chesfel, mommyNg, The school sent us an email with regards to attire check (via LMS) in Feb 2016. This is the link it referred to: http://nationaljc.moe.edu.sg/life-of-njcians/student-management-discipline/, scroll to the bottom, under Attire & Grooming, Inappropriate footwear. The pdf document contains pictorial illustrations of approved shoes. On a separate note, my dc wears black.

I guess the most important point is as long as it is not garish, it would be fine.

Hi can anyone shed some light into the compulsory boarding for NJC…

How are boys and girls housed?
What special structure is in place to monitor and motivate studies and progress of children?
How safe is the boarding for girls?
Are children allowed to go home during weekend?
What’s the approx boarding cost per month?

                        ...boarding for NJC..

                        >How are boys and girls housed?
Separate floors (security arrangements: security guards, CCTV). The children are warned from Day 1 that they are expected to comply with the school's decorum, \"any infringement will result in action and consequences\". This means that they are strictly not allowed on another gender's floor.

                        >What special structure is in place to monitor and motivate studies and progress of children?
Self-study. Children are assigned teacher-mentors as well.

                        >How safe is the boarding for girls?
                        Very safe.

                        >Are children allowed to go home during weekend?
                        Yes, Friday Check-Out before 2000 hours & Sunday Check-In by 2200 hours.

                        > What's the approx boarding cost per month?
$700~$800 a term, amount is halved after government subsidies. The Boarding schedule comes with a bunch of forms which means you could be paying next to nothing (<$50/term? http://nationaljc.moe.edu.sg/about-us/frequently-asked-questions/) if you meet those requirements.
