I get it why so many people like conspiracy theories. However, there are times when the simplest explanation is often the best one.
I think there are other 'hidden reason' that they release posting so late.
Sorting results based on merit is a simple process. However, when complications appear, the best algorithm cannot cater for every single possible scenario (and human intervention is required). See alng earlier example of school cohort not meeting minimum threshold. The process will probably have to be re-run again, because we don't know whether the extra 10 students who have to be re-posted is going to affect the COP of the new school (and bumping out someone else). Even the sorting hat with a far easier task of allocating a pupil to 4 schools couldn't make up its mind on Harry, and MOE has hundreds of school to consider (and decision to close down a school cannot be made lightly).
Also, people tend to forget that in the civil service there are lines of reporting. The employee running the results will probably have to repeat the process if a decision is required (see above) and can only forward for final approval (which may involve a number of bosses) once satisfactory. This takes time and given that this is a process that can trigger a civil war in Singapore if handled improperly, due care must be given. Unless parents are happy that a junior staff can finalize the first result that a faceless computer generates, we should all learn to take it easy and learn the virtue of patience.
P/S: On conspiracy theories, I do believe Elvis is still alive and the USA government is covering the Roswell UFO incident. Just saying. -

does anyone know what was the minimum score to be eligible for Express/Normal(Academic) this year ?
my dd got 187 and it was for Normal(Academic), hence she was not able to apply for Express. just curious that how many marks she lacked to have Express/Normal(Academic). :sad: :sad:
my daughter got 161 posted to Normal Academic...she was very disappointed but i am happy because it is a big improvement from prelims. work hard next year, your daughter can still make it to express.

Just for discussion, how the sorting based on merit works? How merit is ranked? It is clear for non SAP schools. However, for SAP schools, the computer system can sort them in two ways.
In descending order.
Sorting example 1: Priority to HMT

188 in express stream may be a little stressful if grouped in a class of students who have 200. -

When applying to SAP schools, bonus points form part of your score. Hence,
(1) 255+3, 255+2, 254+3 is > 256
(2) 255+1, 254+2 = 256
In the even that (2) requires a tie break, SC > PR and others. If there is still a tie, say between two SC, the one with the higher unrounded aggregate score will be posted into the school first. Therefore, 256 > 255+1 > 254+2. -

school starts. Before flying off, my sister made copies of their results, testimonials, references,
etc and left them with me, along with proxy letters, and a big chart of if...then...else, ie if admitted to
school A, then no appeal, else appeal for school B, etc, etc.
In the end, it was this uncle who had to take leave and report to the 2 different Sec Schools (one in
the East, the other in Central) on behalf of the 2 nephews. Then traveled to 4 other schools to submit

It means the sorting is from 256 to 255 to 254 etc based on T-score. HMT gives priority but T-score decides the ranking.
Sorting (1) is 256 to 255 to 254 etc based on (T-score + HMT), Means 254+3 is higher rank than 256+0. -

If the COP of the SAP school is 256, then the 255+3 might end up not getting into the SAP school?
I think that will result in a riot.
