This is one video to illustrate how humble the ex-principal of NYJC is. He does not take full credit to NY's success but he attributed to the STAFF and STUDENTS. Hear from the horse's mouth.

This is another video related to the new principal. I mean my point is, give every principal a chance to lead, if you still choose to think that a change of principal is something that will cause NYJC to have a drastic change, think twice before making a mountain out of a molehill. That's all I have to say, good luck to all students and parents, I wish you the best! -

Because you don't make sense.
It is entirely relevant. I really rest my case and I see no point in explaining to you if you still want to continue your concept of:
It takes the same effort to achieve 90 marks from 80 marks when compared to achieving 80 marks from 70 marks.
While I say that it gets tougher as you improve (in this case when the score is higher), meaning that:
Though the difference of 90 and 80 is the same as the difference of 80 and 70, the effort needed to get a 90 marks from 80 is a lot more significant than a raise from 70 to 80.
You are trying to mislead by comparing s sport's skill to taking an exam.
Whether you are at 60 marks or 80 marks now, the effort required to get the next additional MCQ question correct is the same. The more question you get correct, the more marks you get.
In fact I would think that the 80 marks student will need \"less effort\" to get that additional MCQ question correct since he is smarter by virtue of his current mark.
Are you saying it would be tougher for the 80mark still to get the additional MCQ question correct than the 60 mark student ? -

So in your opinion, what was the reason VJC has never been able to be able to regain the #1 position since 2001 ? The performance gap between RI/HCI and VJ has grown even larger today.
TBH, I did mention that the students had little interaction with Mrs Lee (the principal). Though I know she's a good principal because I cant find any fault with her, but it doesn't mean she played an important role in VJ's success. In fact, I attributed my success to the unwavering support my seniors had for me. Is this clear enough, because I seem to have said these a couple of times. FYI, VJ weren't that far from RJ and The Chinese High (HCI) then, we always have a close fight. I agree that the disparity is visible in todays context (2017), just like how I see NYJC has improved since my days. -

Firstly, you said that I was wrong to say that the effort needed to get 90 marks from 80 marks is different from the effort needed to get 80 marks from 70 marks. I explained myself and you relentlessly held on to your concept, I rest my case.
Secondly, you dug further to even say that \"the 80 marks student will need \"less effort\" to\" sort of improve.
Thirdly, you went on to ask the same repeated qn: \"Are you saying it would be tougher for the 80mark still to get the additional MCQ question correct than the 60 mark student \", which I have stated my stand countless times.
What exactly are you driving at? -

You have to understand that RI and HCI take in top students since secondary 1, unlike VJ who accepts JC1s (before the IP system came in). It is meaningless and groundless to compare because if both colleges were to start on different take off point, the exact reasons cannot be scrutinised. Besides, I do not wish to discuss things that are unrelated to NYJC anymore, wasn't that what I have mentioned before? You are depriving people with genuine interest to this thread.

Thank you mindays for providing me with these videos. It certainly gave me the confidence to believe NYJC. Continue what you are doing and don't be affected by people, we all know who is the right/wrong. :thankyou: :goodpost:https://www.facebook.com/Nanyangjc/videos/1395758207104116/

If NY's eligibility of local university admission (for 2015?) was indeed 100%, this stellar result should be published here but it wasn't:
To reiterate myself again, I went to the open houses of both JCs, and I come to know that TJ's PW results of 2015 is only about 20+% A. It was shocking! You can ask other forumners to prove. NY has about twice of TJ's distinction rates for PW.
TJ's eligibility of local university admission is about 96%. NY's eligibility of local university admission is 100%.
Take note, I mean ELIGIBILITY, I don't mean 96 or 100% respectively proceeded with local U, because some of them may proceed on to overseas university. I got these data from the 2017 open house. If you doubt, you can always ask the colleges and prove me wrong. I take the effort to find out and the last thing I would want to receive is dubious reply to me. It is simply hurting.
I am not trying to sell NY because I don't see any benefits for it. I am speaking up for NY because I see forumners trying to downplay NYJC, using EJC and even perceptions. Why don't you say something about them? Or birds of the same feather flock together?
IF I do not exist, I wonder how NY is wrongly addressed by these forumners.

(2016 DSA poster)
This prove that your info is not credible. If you do not exist, the forummers here would be fed with accurate info to make rational decision.
P/S: It will be foolish for anyone to believe that TJC 2015 PW distinction rate was only 20%.
You are very irresponsible & misleading mindays! -
Dear Readers,
There may be dubious information in this forum (more than in any others), IMHO, which may be intentionally used to uplift NYJC and downplay on other JCs' results.
Please discern.
Call NYJC office or attend any JC openings to clarify your doubts as NYJC usually does not publish any A level results in its website except for DSA purposes, which may be a few months later.
For 2015 A level results, TJC, RVHS, DHS, NJC etc did publish some useful information shortly upon the A level result release in their websites. Please refer to those websites to make your decision instead of using the 'verbal declaration' claimed in this forum. -

I am not comparing. I am just requesting you to give us some insight why you think VJC did not regain the #1 position after Mrs Lee left, despite haing good school culture, support and good seniors e.t.c

I thought my question is very straightforward. Nevertheless, let me explain more again.
I am confused by what you say because you seem to include so many things in your post.
1. You claim that a 60 mark student will find it easier to gain the additional one more mark than the 80 mark student.
2. To claim that extra one more mark, you just need to answer an additional MCQ question correctly
3. Answering the MCQ question correctly, require the same effort, whether you are a 60 mark or 80 mark student.(Please note my emphasis in bold)
Question to you
So why did you say it takes more effort for the 60 mark student than the 80 mark student ?
I hope this is clear enough.
