      UBKmom:

3/4 pts means on par with RI/HCI but based on past trend and the declining number of cohort year after year, Singapore can only support 2 top JCs with 3/4 (top 1-2%) cut off points which means it will either kick RI/HCI out of the top table.
Wonder if the declining number of cohort every year has affected the number of student intake of the JCs.

Does it mean that in future the COP for all these 3 sec schools will be even higher ? Since the COP entry will be at 3/4 pts.

Personally believe the COP will increase.
But NYGH and RGS still will be top 2 COP.

Believe many JCs COP will go up this year because of the emergence of EJC!!

          phtthp:

After A level results come out in 2019, possible to see some new ranking changes, in the current Top 5 JCs : namely RI, HCI, VJC, NJC, DHS.

Which JC will be kicked out of the Top 5 ranking or not, replaced by EJC, time will tell.
These 5 are the top JCs in terms of A level results. However, DHS does not have COP at JC level as there is no intake.
If there is one that may be out of top 5, it could be NJC. I see similarities between NJC and TJC.
Both have a bigger neighboring rival (HCI for NJC, VJC for TJC).
Both do not have feeder schools although they have their own intake of IP students at Year 1.
VJC is more similar to RI and HCI eg the emphasis on sports. VJC is also very strong in performing arts.
Eunoia may also be more in this group (Raffles, Hwa Chong and Victoria).
National is more similar to Temasek,

:scratchhead: Already explained that I have no intention to offend, still people scrutinize every word and punctuation to find fault  Ok, no need to scrutinize further as I will exit this EJC thread :siam: before being drag into :imdrowning:
Do not leave. EJC need your contribution!

People don't scrutinize punctuation to find faults, they scrutinize punctuation to detect the tone of the message.
Was just trying to explain why some my find your message harsh...did not mean it any other ways.

I don't think EJC is trying to 'kick' RIJI / HCJC or any other JCs in this thread and comparing herself with Top 5. The above discussion was obviously initiated by non-EJC parents. Do ilovekaksa, isetan. UBKmom, phtthp have kids @ EJC ?

@ Non-EJC parents.. I think it's unfair to set such high and unrealistic expectations of a new JC. Please stop making absurd remarks like EJC's cop being 3-4 points and EJC 'kicking out' this JC or that JC. Don't try to turn EJC forum into another NYJC forum, if that's on your agenda.

We know that RI / HCI take in mostly GEPpers (top 1% of cohort) and top scorers from Mainstream (top 3% of psle cohort), while CHS/SNGS/SCGS take in top 10% of psle cohort. Who will produce better A Level results ?
(PS : GEPpers & MS top PSLE scorers from CHS(Pri) tend to choose RI over CHS IP).

@ EJC parents.. Please don't get drawn into the above absurd discussion, else EJC will be wrongly accused of 'talking big' without actual results / facts (yet).
Hi, apologies, I didnt know only EJC parents can comment here. Also, I hv no idea what is happening in the NYJC thread.
The cutoff point is determined by the JAEs, shld not concerned the IP students at all. CHS St Nick's and SCGS hv many top students gg for RI/HCI yearly. If these top students decide to follow their IP frens to EJC. Looking at their low JAE intake and the academic potential of the current IP cohort, I tot it cld be possible for low cutoffs for EJC in the future. It was not my intention to compare or rank any JC. To me, the A lvl is fair game to any JC student.
Will exit this thread : ) Sorry

Are non-IP students of CHS, SNGS and SCGS given 2 bonus points for entry to EJC?

Looks like VJC only have bonus points for VS but not Cedar
And ACSI also no bonus points for affiliation.
