      Orb:

Looking from the school perspective, the school will select PV based on how the parents' contribution will benefit the school irregardless of the distance the parent volunteer's place of residence.
      Not entirely true.
If a school ballots every year <1km in Phase 2B, you will not get the PV slot no matter how well your skills can benefit the school if you are residing >1km.

I agree. From school perspective, it doesn't matter. Only parents face that risk. The school get to benefit the parent's contribution for 1 year. heh heh...

            valtantan:
Can anyone advise if there is PV for Jing Shan Pri School in AMK?

I asked earlier this year, it seems there is none but am not sure if it's different from year to year. I am registering for my gal who is going to P1 in 2018.

            Thanks! 🙂
            Hi @valtantan,

JSPS currently has a Parent Support Group in place and parents would be involved in some activities for the students during the course of the year. A good point to note would be that it is not as intensive as compared to some other schools as they only meet up about once a month and communication via WhatsApp to update group members on the upcoming activities and to get participation from parents who would be available to help out.

They also help out in the monthly library reading programme whereby they have reading sessions during the 3 recesses for the students.

Here's the link for the Parent Support Group and you can take a look at what has been done previously:

            Hope this helps! 🙂

My boy is born in year 2013, which mean I should start looking into PV this year? I am looking at River Valley Primary. Didn’t see any announcement in their website. Any tips?

Hi all, my daughter was born in 2013 and SC citizen, we want to apply for PV at NYPS. I read from their website that application for PV is open. Can anybody please share any experience in applying PV at Nanyang? Would really appreciate any information. And I want to find out if a kid fails to get a place under 2B, will he/she straight away be balloting again under 2C for the same school? Can he/she still change school and enrol under 2C in another school? Many thanks.

After failing to secure a place at Phase 2B, there is no auto route to Phase 2C.
Phase 2C is a new phase, you can apply for different school, or the same school as Phase 2B but do note there is no advantage at Phase 2C even though you have PV for the school. Your chance is the same as all applicants in Phase 2C.

Thank you aloyboy. Yes it’s all luck in 2C phase. And 2CS is useless as by end of 2C, NYPS will be full.

Hi, my daughter is born in 2012 and i applied PV at Chongfu. I have gotten the notification that i was not selected for the PV, they only selected 20 out of 100 applicants, so im trying to explore the other option of volunteering through SHHK.

Would like to check if any of you are already volunteering through SHHK and if yes, how is it usually? I read on their website there are 2 types, Huay Kuan volunteers and School based volunteers…

Does it mean that other than the 20 the school selecting on its own, SHHK also has a quota for Chongfu?
