i think this thread would be more appropriate to make queries.

        son got into MI commerce.
but we are in the process of trying to appeal. based on the 2017 cop for the 3 appeal courses, cop for 2 courses have dropped from 21 to 19 :nailbite: son's score is now only 1-2 points below those courses.
what are his chances? please advise. thanks.

All the best to your son. Where did you get the 2017 COP for the poly courses? I would like to check out the courses that my daughter applied to (she's not JAE). I wonder how long they will make us wait before they let us know.

The poly 2017 COPs were uploaded this morning and is available at this link:

My tutee got into Raffles Humanities Programme with L1R5 of 6 with a scholarship awarded. He did triple science combination ar non-affiliated top school. No further discount on L1R5.

So the COP of 4 for Raffles was most likely not accurate ..

Earlier SMSs from mum is under \"results\" of https://home-tuition.sg Mum also sent copy of posting since this 7am+ (not published) ...

I am aware of other exceptions under DSA, some with L1R5 way off this guide...

..still, :congrats: to those who worked hard and got in to their choices.
Isn't it that the awardee of the humanities program with scholarship can get the extra 2 points, which means total 6 points can be deducted?

Could it be that your tutee has 2 bonus marks deducted for CCA - so net is 4, which is the COP for Raffles.

Excuse my ignorance. I had thought the max points ( or at least for most people) is 2 points? where does the 4 &6 points come from?

Most students will have 2 pts from CCA. The other 2 points may come from affiliation or scoring C6 and above for Higher Chinese.

I agree. If the student managed to be awarded a Humanities Scholarship, it is highly unlikely that he failed his CCA such that he obtained zero bonus point from CCA. Also, since the student was from a top school, he must have done well for his PSLE and could have taken HMTL at the 'O' level which I think Scootopia does not offer MTL tuition.

DSA is a different ball game, L1R5 of a DSA student is not constraint by the JAE COP. As long as a student qualifies for JC, he would have secured his DSA spot. This is the same arrangement as the secondary school posting, isn't it?

If a student apply to a JC offering CLEP/ MLEP and is accepted by the JC, he will enjoy another 2 bonus point on top of the bonus points obtained from affiliation/ HMTL/ CCA, making it a max of 6 bonus points.
