Back to EJC. My gut feel is that EJC will be propelled to be one of the top 5 JCs in time to come.

A shift to Marymount/Sin Ming area will be a prerequisite.

i think it could be different periods. There was also a time when Hwa Chong L1R4 science was 7/8 while RJC was around 10.

This could be 1984, when VJC was just set up.
This could be more accurate (correct me if I am wrong).
        HCJC - 8 pts
        RJC - 10 pts
        VJC - 11 pts

This was in 1984? Mind sharing the source of your data ?

So VJC COP was 11 , not 10 when it first started

If you get 10 points 30 years ago, meaning that each subject ( divided by 5 subjects) is an A2 which is 70-75 marks. This is good but hardly brilliant. If you were from VS, with 2 points affliation bonus, you would be able to get into VJC with 12 points COP

I think those years it was not easy to get distinction for English, compared to nowadays.
Many people get 4 A1s plus English grade which determine their L1R4.

Any evidence to back up what you are claiming?

I got A1 for enlish 20+ years ago. Not difficult at all

A side question. Since NYJC students are not from the IP schools, and apart from affiliated Chung Cheng High, what schools did the students of NYJC come from?

From more than 80 schools and some winning formulae of nyjc: late start at 8.30am, unusual subject combinations offered & alumni help spread the word. None on A level performance though.

The ten reasons are here according to their site. Reason 5 is related to academic results. But off topic :offtopic: I wont elaborate on it but just patch up whatever that was left hanging. Sorry
