        Hi

        Can someone help on this question?Thanks
        Jessy had 120 sweets and Sandra had 48 sweets. After Jessy gave Sandra some sweets, Sandra had 40 less sweets than Jessy. How many sweets did Jessy give to Sandra ?
        Can someone explain that in algebra? Thanks.

          u should post in AskQ. Why use algebra? Model is easier for kids.

          Let x be no of sweets given to S by J

          120 - x - 40 = 48 + x
          2x = 32
          x = 16

          OR

          (120 - x) - (48 + 4) = 40
          2x = 72 - 40
          x = 16

            Hi, Thanks thanks.

            Modelling is hard to understand so hard to explain.

              I think the more important question is whether your child prefers model or algebra.
